The McAuliffe Shuttle
Week of February 1, 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Team McAuliffe,
Winter is definitely making its presence known! With the cold temperatures and snow we’ve seen recently, we truly appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility, and teamwork as we work together to keep our students safe, warm, and learning. Fingers crossed that tonight is nothing more than a dusting!
A quick reminder that our PTO Popcorn Fundraiser wraps up this week, with all order forms due by Tuesday. Thank you to our families for supporting the PTO. Fundraisers like this help make special events and opportunities possible for our students.
Wednesday is a busy day at the McAuliffe, so we wanted to be sure it’s on everyone’s radar. We will have an Early Release Day with dismissal at 1:30 PM, Save-At-School with Jeanne D’Arc in the morning, a special visit from Comfort Dog Raider, and our PTO Meeting at 6:00 PM. More information about all of these is available in the Shuttle.
We’ll wrap up the week with something our students are very excited about: Team McAuliffe Movie Night on Friday, February 6. The votes are in, and Dog Man will be our feature film. We hope families can join us for a fun, low-key evening together in the gym.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our school community.
One Team! One Goal! No Limits!
David Anderson
PTO Popcorn Fundraiser Due Tuesday
Last week we sent home an envelope with our next PTO Fundraiser in it. We will be selling different types of popcorn.
The PTO gets 50% of all proceeds from the Poppin' Popcorn Fundraiser. You can support by using the paper order form to ask people to purchase popcorn.
Or you can sell online by going to the link below and registering for a sellers page. For every 3 bags of popcorn sold, the seller will get a free mini bag!
The fundraiser will run from January 20th until February 3rd. Please be sure all order forms are turned in by then. Please reach out to mcauliffepto570@gmail.com for more information.
Chocolate Heart Lollipops Fundraiser
One of our most popular fundraisers of the year starts this week. Our PTO will be selling Chocolate Heart Lollipops just in time for Valentine's Day.
Each lollipop costs $2 and orders are due by February 10th. The order form will be sent home with students and can be accessed below.
Reach out to mcauliffepto570@gmail.com with any questions.

Comfort Dog Raider to Visit Team McAuliffe on Wednesday
We also have a special visitor coming to the McAuliffe on Wednesday. Students will get to meet Raider, a comfort dog from the Watertown Police Department and learn about what he does! Check out the video below to see Raider.
Movie Night is Friday!
The votes are in and the kids have spoken! Dog Man will be our movie on Movie Night for February 6th from 6-8pm. Check out the trailer for the movie below.
Come out with the family to the McAuliffe Gym for a night at the movies. Cost is $1 per person with a maximum of $5 per family. Each admission comes with a free bag of popcorn and bottle of water. There will be other snacks for sale as well.
Bring pillows for the gym floor and remember that parents must remain with their children throughout the movie.
McAuliffe Attendance Stars Update
School Site Council Corner
At our January 14th School Site Council Meeting, we took a look at our most recent iReady data for Reading and for Math. We compared it to the data from our first set of assessments in the Fall and to where we were last year at this time.
We also took a look at the Budget Training Video provided by the Finance Office for School Site Councils as we get ready to head into budget season for this school year. Our next meeting will focus on the budget for the 26-27 school year.
Please consider joining us at that (or any) meeting. If you would like to attend but need translation, please email danderson@lowell.k12.ma.us.
All meetings will take place at 5:30pm on Google Meets. Upcoming Meeting Dates:
