A Note from the Social Worker
As the winter and holiday season approaches, it brings a time of joy and celebration, but it can also bring extra challenges for some families. If your family could use a little extra support this season, please know that you are not alone, and I am here to help!
Whether it’s a gift card to help with a holiday meal, winter coats and gear, or information about gift resources for your children, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I am happy to help connect families with available resources!
*Please note, if you need help with holiday gifts, you will need to reach out before Monday, November 23rd. Winter gear (hat, gloves, etc.) you can reach out at any time.

Fall Harvest Parade and Classroom Parties on Friday, 10/30
Our Harvest Parade and Party are quickly approaching. Costumes are optional but if you are sending a Fall Harvest costume please plan accordingly. For the school parade, please plan a costume that your child will be able to assemble by themselves.
Costumes should be in a bag labeled with their name and teacher’s name on the outside. Costumes should be school appropriate. Please avoid costumes that are overly scary, depict violence, or those that would frighten our youngest learners. Face painting is not permitted, masks may not be worn over the face. If a costume is deemed inappropriate for the school setting, the student will be asked to participate in the clothing he or she wore to school. No weapons of any kind may be brought to school. Please leave any weapons that may have come with your child’s costume at home.
- 1:15: Classrooms will begin to prepare for Parade.
- 1:30: Visitors can line up either on the lower black top or on the sidewalk in the South Parking Lot as students will exit Door 3 and re-enter the building using Door 10. We always look forward to seeing lots of visitors outside. Families are welcome to attend and watch the parade outside.
- 1:45: Class parties begin.
Thanks to everyone that makes this day a highlight for our students!
e-Learning on Tuesday, 11/3
Dear Parents & Guardians,
Through a recent Talk203, you received an email from Naperville 203 regarding the approval of the district’s e-Learning plan. e-Learning will provide our students with a continuation of learning on days when we are unable to open its school buildings. Students will receive at least five hours of asynchronous instruction or school work through their Canvas or Google Classroom account.
Support From Teachers
Staff members are available from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to respond to students' needs. Communication methods may include: Email, Canvas/Google Classroom and Google Meet, among others. Teachers will hold a morning, synchronous session to check in, answer questions, and get students up and running for the day. Teachers will also hold two synchronous check in sessions for students during the day. Teachers will communicate these times on Canvas or Google Classroom. Teachers will also be available throughout the day to answer questions and communicate with students as needed through email. Students will be given assignments aligned to current learning progression and goals, which can be found on Canvas or Google Classroom.
Teachers will check on the completion of necessary e-Learning assignments
Teachers will provide students with extended time, as needed to complete assignments
Attendance
The State of Illinois recognizes e-Learning days as regular attendance days, thus they will not need to be made up. Naperville 203 will use e-Learning days in lieu of emergency days, which were previously used for emergency school closings.
Parents should follow the same absent attendance process as regular school days.
Call the school if your student is sick and unable to participate in the e-Learning day
Students will be considered present unless excused by parent/guardian
All absences should be called in by 9 a.m.
Tech Support
In preparation for the possibility of an e-Learning day, students will bring their devices and other technology tools that day. For all tech support please click HERE.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support.
