Dear Families,
FOWE potluck: It was so lovely to see so many of you - great conversation and delicious food. What could be better? Special thanks to Erin and Alison for organizing the event and to all of you who helped with set-up, service, and clean-up. Everyone pitching in, including children, created such a relaxed, warm sense of community.
Annual forms: If you haven’t already sent your packet in, please do. Having them in hand helps to ensure your children’s well-being and safety. Thanks.
We need help! Raised garden beds: The raised beds in front of the school have been prepared for planting. We’d like to do a fall planting of such things as garlic and kale, as well as some spring bulbs. We could really use your help with this. Please be in touch if you have time to work on this with a class.
REMINDER: Indoor/outdoor clothing and gear - It looks like some rain during the coming week. Please be sure you child comes to school on those wet days with the following:
Rain boots, rain pants and rain jackets.
Lunch volunteers: Thank you to all of you who have been able to help out. If you would like to volunteer to help with lunch prep and service (11:00-12:00) please sign up here for September/October dates. We need volunteers for this coming Tuesday and Wednesday. No experience needed! If you are new to volunteering, you will need to apply here.
Please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or call if you have any questions (802-545-3301),
Have a lovely fall weekend. Christina

Share your experience with 2026-2027 Bus Transportation Across our district, we are facing significant transportation challenges caused by driver shortages on multiple bus routes. You can find revised bus routes here based on Week 1 changes, and also in your principal’s newsletters. We hope the changes we made in Week 1 will offer stability moving forward and we will continue to make adjustments as needed and hope to get back to our normal bus routes as quickly as possible. However, we are also working to capture the full impact this challenge has had on our families as we escalate this situation to the the Secretary of Education and BetCha’s parent company, STA. Please use this form to document the impact any bus disruptions had on your family so that we can act on and/or pass along the information as we seek resolution. Welcome Back All District Family Event September 18 [Picture sent by chat] Please join us on Friday September 18th for a special welcome back event hosted by the Flynn Center and ACSD! This Whimsical interactive back-to-school party will feature PEARL by Plasticiens Volants. FREE and open to everyone in the ACSD Community. 6pm at Middlebury Union Middle School
