Last Friday, our PTO-sponsored Fall Fest was a wonderful evening filled with fun, trunk-or-treating, and family connections. Thank you to our PTO and the Fall Fest committee members for organizing such a successful event!
Next Friday is Halloween, and we’ll celebrate with our annual parade and an all-school gathering for the pie-throwing event—one of the goals achieved from our recent Fox Trot fundraiser! (Specific Halloween Details below.)
In addition, Fox Ridge is celebrating 500 Class Paws with a Pajama and Popsicle Party on Wednesday, October 29 (popsicles generously donated by our PTO)! Please have students wear their pajamas on Wednesday. Popsicles will be delivered to classrooms for teachers to distribute.
Our classes earned 500 Paws by showing that they are respectful, responsible, and safe in the hallways, lunchroom, classrooms, recess, and specials. We are so proud of our students and staff and excited to celebrate this accomplishment together!
Halloween Celebration at Fox Ridge
Halloween will be celebrated at Fox Ridge on Friday, October 31. If you are a room parent, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher to plan party activities. This year, all communication will come directly from the classroom teacher.
We will have our Halloween Parade outdoors around the blacktop for all students in grades K–5, beginning at 2:10 p.m. Classes will exit through the south doors (Door 11), walk around the blacktop track for one full loop, and re-enter through the same doors.
Students are welcome to dress up for the day but must follow the guidelines below. Costumes should be brought to school and put on during an assigned time in the afternoon. Please make sure your child’s costume requires minimal assistance, as each classroom has only one teacher to help many students.
Costume Guidelines
-
Students must be able to put on their own costumes and make-up without assistance.
-
No full-face masks may be worn (only standard face masks if desired).
-
No costumes or make-up depicting blood, violence, or gore.
-
No items that resemble weapons of any kind, even if part of a costume.
-
No political costumes.
-
No bare midriffs or revealing clothing.
-
Costumes must be school-appropriate and should not distract from learning.
Students may be asked to remove or cover any part of a costume that does not follow these guidelines. If you have any questions about your child’s costume, please reach out to me or your classroom teacher.
After the parade, classroom parties will begin at 2:30 p.m. Each classroom will have its own celebration.
If you prefer your child not participate in Halloween activities, please let your child’s teacher know. An alternative activity will be provided, which may include a movie or games.
All classroom party activities will be organized by the room parent, and no food will be permitted during the parties. Thank you for understanding.
Room parents will reach out to volunteers regarding party planning within the next few days, if they haven’t already. Classroom plans and the list of up to three additional parent helpers should be submitted to the homeroom teacher by Monday, October 20. (Classroom teachers should have shared this already).

Veteran's Day
In November, we will take time to honor our veterans.
If you have a family member, friend, or loved one who has served in the military and you would like to recognize them, please print and complete the form below. You may include a picture, and we will proudly display these throughout our school to honor their service.
We will also hold an all-school Veterans Day assembly on Tuesday, November 11, at 9:30 a.m. Veterans are invited to attend and be honored during this special event.
Thank you for helping us celebrate and show appreciation for the brave men and women who have served our country.
Below I have included two letters from the district; please read them and let us know if you have any questions regarding our upcoming presentations related to Erin's law and/or the upcoming CogAT tests.
