Dear PK8 Families,

We hope everyone had a wonderful fall break! We are excited for the start of the second quarter, the opportunities, and the growth students will show!

Student Pick-Up and Drop-Off Safety Reminder

Student safety is our top priority, and we need everyone’s help to keep our school grounds safe during pick-up and drop-off.

We have had several instances of drivers traveling too quickly through school property. Please slow down, follow all posted signs, and remain alert for students and pedestrians.

Please remember the following expectations:

• Drive slowly and follow posted signs. Use extra caution whenever students are arriving or leaving school.

• Bus lanes are for buses only before 8:30 a.m. and after 2:30 p.m. Please do not use these lanes during these times, as doing so creates safety risks for students and interferes with bus operations.

• Use designated pick-up areas only. The east-end parking lot is not a designated student pick-up area and should not be used for student pick-up.

Keeping students safe is a shared responsibility. Thank you for following these expectations and helping us maintain a safe environment for all students, families, and staff..

Middle Schoolers,

• Mr. Jesse Burns has agreed to be our DJ for our upcoming Halloween Dance. If you have a song or songs you would like to request he add to the playlist, please email him directly.
• If you would like to bring a guest to the dance, please get a guest form from the office.

• This is a new quarter, but you must still meet the eligibility requirements to attend the dance.

• Students will participate in dance lessons during their specials classes in preparation for the upcoming school dance. This is a long-standing tradition that helps students feel more confident, comfortable, and prepared to participate. We focus on learning the steps, practicing together, and having fun. During dance lessons, partners will be assigned by staff rather than chosen by students. This approach helps ensure that all students participate, learn together, and feel comfortable practicing the dances in preparation for the school dance.
