One Purpose. Your Pathway. Our Promise.
Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale. Lauren DeStefano
There are three things I have leaned never to discuss with people: religion, politics and the Great Pumpkin. Linus, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Fall is proof that change can be beautiful.

8th Grade WEB Leaders
Where Everybody Belongs (WEB) is a student leadership program designed to help our incoming 6th graders feel welcome, connected, and confident as they transition to middle school. In August, our 8th grade WEB Leaders spent two days training and preparing to welcome our incoming 6th graders. During training, WEB Leaders developed leadership skills, practiced team-building activities, and prepared to serve as positive role models and mentors.
During 6th Grade Orientation, our trained WEB Leaders welcomed new students, led team-building activities, gave building tours, and helped students learn the routines and expectations of middle school. WEB Leaders continue to support 6th graders throughout the school year by building relationships, encouraging school involvement, and helping students feel connected to their school community. Their goal is to make sure every student feels welcomed, supported, and that they truly belong at Lewiston-Porter Middle School.
8th Grade Hispanic Heritage Posters
National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15, honoring the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Many of the 20 Spanish-speaking countries celebrate their independence during the Sept 15-Oct 15th dates. The official theme for 2026 is "Unidos, Somos Más" ("Together, We Are More"). To mark the occasion in grade 8 Spanish, Señora Carrasquillo's students researched influential Hispanic individuals throughout history and created informational posters on display in the Middle School's World Language hallway.

D.A.R.E. Graduation
The 6th-grade students at Lewiston-Porter Middle School recently participated in and completed a program sponsored by the Lewiston Police Department that is based on DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) principles. The program focuses on helping children and adolescents develop strategies to resist peer pressure, make healthy choices, and avoid drugs and violence. Through engaging lessons and conversations led by specially trained local police officers, students learn to build confidence, strengthen decision-making, and navigate challenges. This police-led education program promotes positive interactions while strengthening relationships within the community. The original DARE program was founded in 1983 by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Randy Lombardo
I’m a proud alumnus of Lewiston Porter where I now have been working for 22 years. I’ve taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, technology k-3rd, third grade and I presently teach 6th grade Math and Social Studies. I am presently the Varsity Wrestling and Boys Track coach, and coached 13 years of Modified Football. For the last 19 summers I have driven a tour bus and give tours for Over the Falls Tours in the Us and Canada. For fun I enjoy cutting my grass, landscaping my yard, hiking and spending time with Tina (Aversa), my wonderful, supportive wife of 30 years, and our two boys, Jaden and Logan. I’ve been blessed to have received my education and now teach with so many talented and hard working teachers at Lewiston Porter.
Mrs. Zimmerman Recognized for Award
Mrs. Kelly Zimmerman, Lewiston-Porter Middle School art teacher, has received the Robert J. Uplinger Award in recognition of her work with the Lions International Peace Poster Contest. This award is the highest honor a non-member can receive from the Lions organization. For the past 18 years, Kelly has worked with students to explore and express their ideas about peace through art, in collaboration with the Lewiston Lions Club.
Each year, seventh-grade students spend two days discussing how artists visually represent peace before exploring a variety of materials and techniques to bring their own ideas to life based on the annual theme. Every student creates a peace poster during their seventh-grade art rotation, making this a meaningful opportunity for all students to participate in this creative and thought-provoking project.
This year’s theme, “Harmony in Humanity,” encourages students to reflect on the importance of peace, understanding, and unity. The annual Peace Poster Exhibition opens Wednesday, October 28, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. in the Lew-Port High School Level Gallery. The artwork will remain on display through the end of November.
Congratulations to Kelly on this well-deserved recognition and for 18 years of inspiring students to share their visions of peace through art!
