February Students of the Month
Hayden LaMere was selected as the Science Student of the Month. Hayden stood out right away in Freshmen year with her commitment to thoroughly researching a topic and going the extra mile to ensure her work was top quality in science. She shows enthusiasm and interest even in the most challenging topics. Hayden has taken most of the science courses offered at WHS and has succeeded in all of them. She always asks thoughtful and probing questions during class and expresses a desire to fully understand concepts and connect them to her real-world experiences.
Willima Niemi was also selected as the Science Student of the Month. William is a hard worker who takes his time to ensure things are done right the first time, but he is unafraid to go back and relearn a challenging concept if necessary. William Niemi has a great natural understanding of science concepts. He has excelled in all of his science classes at WHS. William is concurrently taking physics and advanced chemistry and succeeding in both classes. He often explains our physics labs and the calculations needed to complete lab reports to his fellow students. He has simplified complicated problems
NWEA Testing
Students in grades 9 and 10 have begun taking the NWEA assessments, which measure growth in science, reading, and mathematics. These assessments provide valuable insight into student learning and will be administered again in March to track academic progress throughout the school year. See the link below for more information on the NWEA.
New this year is the Patriot Press website where you can access the digital version. Go to

Student Handbook
We encourage both parents and students to read the student handbook carefully. It provides important information about school expectations, rules, and available resources, helping everyone understand their rights, responsibilities, and how to create a safe, respectful, and successful learning environment together. Click on the link below to access the WHS Student Handbook.
