News from the Principal
Greetings WE Families,
I want to give a big THANK YOU to all of you for scheduling and attending your child's parent-teacher conference. I know this is an important part of building a strong home-school connection. I am sure you have heard many wonderful things that your child is doing at school. I am always so amazed at the work that is happening each day across our classrooms. It is my favorite part of my job.
WE DID IT!!! Thank you for your generous contributions to the Fuss Free Fundraiser! Come join us on October 24th for our Outdoor Community Circle. The students are excited to throw water balloons at me. The comments leading up to the actual event are always interesting. Some of our sweetest students really lean into the idea of hitting me with water balloons, while others still have a hard time thinking that it is ok to do that. Just one more reason that I love my job.
Thank you for your attention to your child's lunch account balance. We want to make sure that students are not accumulating a negative balance. I will send an email reminder when your child has exceeded a $10.00 negative balance.
Mark your calendars for these upcoming events.

October 18, 2:00 p.m. PTA Fall Festival

There is a $35 fee (cash, check, or money order made payable to City Schools of Decatur) for the background check, and it must be turned in to Westchester before you go for your background check. You can book an appointment using this link: https://calendar.app.google/du9yW1Gg8SV6pjGp8
Important scheduling note: Appointments are typically available on Mondays and Wednesdays. You can schedule an appointment up to 21 days in advance.
What to bring: Please bring your driver's license with you to your 10-minute appointment. You will also fill out a short form.
Results: The information is submitted to the GBI, and results are often returned within 24 hours.
