Student-Led Conferences
Thank you for another successful conference experience! It was exciting to see so many people in the building and the pride the students had as they led their conferences! This is truly a key part of what makes Bay Harbor great!
Miranda Paul Author Visit (Nov. 9, 12)
We are excited to welcome a special author to Bay Harbor Elementary, Miranda Paul! Our students will have the opportunity to meet and learn from a published author, hear about the writing process, and be inspired to explore their own creativity as writers. We are incredibly grateful for our PTO and their continued generosity and commitment to providing our students with meaningful and memorable learning experiences. Their support makes opportunities like this possible!
Veterans Day (Wear RED, WHITE and BLUE)
On Wednesday, November 11th, we will begin our day with an assembly to learn about the meaning of Veterans Day and we will read a book called, “Honor Flight” by Jeff Gottesfeld. Students will leave the assembly with a task and the materials to do it, “Create a card that can be given to a Veteran who is on the Honor Flight”. In September, I was lucky enough to attend an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. with my dad and uncle (both Vietnam Veterans). One of the most prized parts of the trip was on the flight home when they got, “Mail Call”, and received special cards from families, friends, and school children.
