Cardinal Call
Greetings, Cardinals!
Thank you to all the caregivers and families that stopped in on Thursday and Friday for conferences. It is hard to believe it is already March. Coming up quickly is the state mandated ACT for 11th grade students. We have detailed information about pre-registration in this week's newsletter. Students must pre-register if they would like to access their scores after testing. If students have questions about this process they should check in with their SP30 teacher or student services. Let's have a great week!
Sincerely,
Jim Ertel

ACT Pre-Registration
Hello 11th grade students,
ACT pre-registration must be completed prior to testing day. During pre-registration, students may choose to send their ACT scores to up to four postsecondary institutions at no cost.
Pre-registration will take place during the week of March 2nd. Students should bring a fully charged Chromebook and a personal (non-school) email address.
Please do not use your school email. A personal email is required to ensure continued access to ACT scores after graduation. Thank you for taking this important step toward college and career readiness! Our testing date is Tuesday, March 10th.
Bussing Reminder
Students, please take a screenshot of your transportation page in IC and keep it on your device, or be able to access it quickly in IC for your bus driver. This allows bus drivers to confirm your route and drop off location.
Lost and Found Clean Out
If you have lost anything or believe any of your belongings may be in the lost and found please check it before spring break. During spring break we will wash and donate all unclaimed items. Thank you!

Sun Prairie East High School Prairie is Blooming and Needs Your Support!
Are you looking to update your landscaping this summer? Are you interested in incorporating native plants? Are you interested in donating plants to help Sun Prairie East High School continue to build their prairie?
Sun Prairie East High School is working with Dane County to receive and install native plants into our existing prairie restoration. In order to receive plants, Dane County is seeking donations for our project through on online portal.
If you are interested in purchasing native plants for our project or for your landscaping, follow this link: https://ripple-effects.com/Order/Donate
All plants will be planted in our native prairie immediately next to our high school (South Side of the Building). Students in Agriculture courses and Science courses have been working for several years to convert farmland into native prairie.

IC Updates Coming
Infinite Campus is changing ecommerce providers, meaning that the back-end of the finance system for payments made in the Parent Portal will be changing. This will require all families to re-enter their payment information for lunch fees and other fees that are paid with stored bank/credit card information. This will impact all users of Infinite Campus, as we only accept electronic payments. This will have the biggest impact on caregivers who rely on the automated lunch account replenishment feature that automatically adds funds to a student’s IC lunch account when the account gets close to zero. The process for entering financial information is typical and customary and should be familiar to anyone who has made electronic payments. Information about the change, including clear instructions, will be sent to caregivers in the coming weeks. The change-over is scheduled for Spring Break.

Athletics & Activities
As our winter season comes to an end, I want to thank all of our parents and caregivers for their dedication to our students who are in clubs or sports! It’s a lot to manage; practices, competitions, games, team dinners, last minute time changes and supporting everything in between. I appreciate your partnership!
As we gear up for spring sports, this means our athletic locker rooms need a spring cleaning! Winter athletes need to have their athletic locker cleaned out (unless athletes are still actively in season, if that is the case- please clearly label with athletic tape & name) by March 3rd. Students should keep their athletic lock and take it out of the locker room. Track & Field starts on Monday, March 9 and our custodial team will be cleaning the spaces to reset before then.

FFA Day on the Hill
Sun Prairie East and Sun Prairie West FFA members participated in the FFA Day on the Hill by visiting with local elected officials. Sun Prairie members included four East members, Lydia Statz, Lauren Alt, Vahnyah Vickerman-Kelley and Hanna Zimmerman, along with four West members,Cami Waelti, Tianna Wachowiak, Henry Cleveland, Kenzli Kragh. These FFA members met with State Senator Melissa Ratcliff and Representative to the State Assembly Andrew Hysell.
The National FFA Organization, formerly known as Future Farmers of America, is celebrating its organization this week dubbing it "FFA Week." Wisconsin FFA kicked off FFA Week by holding FFA Day on the hill at the Wisconsin Capitol. FFA members and chapters from across the state convened at the capitol for the event.
FFA members highlighted their experiences within FFA, including their own participation in competitions, community service, educational outreach and personal growth. Additionally, FFA members learned about how the state legislature promotes and works with various stakeholders in supporting Agriculture. FFA members and advisors also advocated for additional funding for Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming and financial support for Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).
Athletic Lockers
Athletic Locker rooms will need to be cleared out by March 3rd for cleaning. All athletes not currently in season will need to move out their belongings and keep their red locks until their next season starts. This includes any winter athletes that are no longer participating and all spring athletes should no longer have their belongings in the athletic locker rooms.
