Methacton Matters
September 2025
Welcome to “Methacton Matters” – our new monthly newsletter designed to share matters from across the district that are important to us and that are important to you.
With the 2025-2026 school year off to an extraordinary start, I’d like to thank the bus drivers, food service staff, and our support staff, teachers and administrators for all they do. It has been a joy to meet parents at the bus stops and during Back to School Nights. Attendance at Back to School Nights has been outstanding and is evident of the larger collective commitment that we all share in supporting achievement in every child.
There are a number of matters that we continue to focus on this year including strengthening literacy instruction, advancing the high school renovation, and reinforcing MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) and PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) across all schools. These matters are targeted towards ensuring an exceptional Methacton School District experience for all.
Video of the Month
This month, I met with Paxton and Riley, two fourth graders from Arrowhead Elementary, to talk about the WATCH DOG program and the importance of volunteers in our schools. Watch the video above to learn more!

Living Our Values
Golden Ticket Giveaway!
Each month, we will share a story that exemplifies one of our core values. This month, we are excited to celebrate the students who embody all of our 9 values!
On Friday, September 19, I joined MHS Principal Dr. Euker and some of her staff to surprise 60 students from across the district with Golden Tickets for the October 3 Varsity Football Homecoming Game! The Golden Ticket gives students and their families entry to the Homecoming Game, where they will be recognized at halftime.
The students were selected due to their outstanding demonstration of Methacton's core values, such as teamwork, talent, empowerment and honor. Five students were selected from each of the elementary schools, Skyview, and Arcola, and 30 high school students were selected to accompany the younger students as they walk across the field at halftime.
We invite you to join us at the Homecoming Game on October 3 to cheer them on!
Community Connections
All Aboard with Dr. Zerbe!
Ms. Donna Piergallini, Executive Director of the Methacton Education Foundation, and I made the rounds on our annual bus stop tour. We met with families at bus stops throughout Lower Providence and Worcester Townships, handing out bags of coffee cups and candy to bring some cheer to the morning routine. This was a great opportunity for families to learn more about the district and the work of the Methacton Education Foundation.
Race Back to School Raises $15,000 For Backpack Program
200 members of the Methacton Community, including students, staff and families, laced up their sneakers for the 3rd annual Race Back to School 5K! The event supports the Methacton Backpack Program which provides essential food to families in our community. Together, we raised more than $15,000! Thank you to the Methacton Education Foundation for making this event a success year after year. See the list of winners!
