Principal's Memo

JMS Parents and Families,

I hope you and your students have been having a fun and enjoyable summer. At JMS, we have been working hard in preparation to have another great year, with a lot to look forward to! You will notice some changes again this year that will be a little different for all of us, but they are changes that I think are ultimately best for students. I hope that the information included will help provide an understanding to all of our families for a wonderful start of the school year. As always, thanks for your support and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Mike Matteson

The JMS Open House is on Thursday, August 29th from 5-7pm. We are asking all of our JMS students and parents to attend and to remain for the entirety of the two hours. We will be running a schedule of events for the duration of that time, in which students with their parents will have a chance to meet their student's advisor, as well all of their teachers for the first quarter.

This is different than what we have done the last several years, but we think this is a great way for parents and students to acclimate to the start of the school year together. We will be sending out additional specifics about JMS Open House as we get closer to that date, but please mark your calendars now for that event.

Picture Days

Our school photo day is August 14th from 9 am to 3 pm. There is a make-up picture day on Tuesday, September 3rd from 2:30-8:00 pm.

Navigating school pictures is as easy as 1,2,3:

  • 1. Attend picture day during the hours of 9am-3pm to have your student(s) picture taken.
  • 2. After picture day, you will be emailed a link to your student's secure online gallery.
  • 3. Complete your picture order online.

In preparation for a successful 2024-2025 school year, we included links to this year's JMS Student Handbook. It is the expectation that students and parents familiarize themselves with the handbook, again to help ensure that each of our students has a successful and positive year. While much of the handbook remains consistent year to year, there are some new changes for 2024-2025. There will be an acknowledgement form for students and parents to complete that will be sent just prior to the start of the year.
