Let's Celebrate Indigo Adopt a School Program Let's Celebrate Indigo Adopt a School Program

Thank You, Westboro Community!

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Westboro community for stepping up and supporting our school through the Indigo Adopt a School Program. Thanks to your generosity, we raised $9748 to purchase new books for our school library. We are truly grateful to everyone who donated and helped make this opportunity possible.

We are also excited to announce that one lucky class has been selected to represent Westboro on a special trip to Indigo to help choose new books for our library! This class has consistently demonstrated respect and responsibility by regularly returning their library books, keeping the library in great condition, and taking excellent care of the materials they borrow.

As a reward for their efforts, this lucky class will head out on a book-shopping adventure on Friday, October 23. We know they will do a fantastic job selecting books that will be enjoyed by students for years to come.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Indigo Sherwood Park, whose staff enthusiastically encouraged customers to donate to our school throughout the campaign. Their support played a significant role in helping us reach our fundraising goal. We are equally grateful to the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation for adopting our school and helping provide this incredible opportunity to expand our library collection for Westboro students.

A special thank you to Shelly White for organizing and coordinating this wonderful event. Your hard work and dedication helped make this opportunity a reality for our students.

Thank you again for supporting literacy at Westboro and helping us inspire a lifelong love of reading!

Our Remembrance Day Ceremony will be Friday, November 6th at 10:30. Family and friends are invited to attend. Please arrive a few minutes early and find a seat at the back.

If your child is in Cadets, Sparks, Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Guides, or Scouts, they are encouraged to wear their uniforms on this day. They will play a special role as our Honour Guard entering in with our flags at the beginning of the ceremony.

A Reminder About Toys and Personal Items A Reminder About Toys and Personal Items

As a reminder, we ask that students keep toys and special items at home, including keychains, trinkets, and other accessories attached to backpacks whenever possible. While these items can be fun, they can sometimes become distractions or get lost, damaged, or accidentally taken by another student.

If your child requires an item for the bus ride, it must remain safely stored in their backpack for the entire school day.

Please take a few minutes to have a conversation with your child about bringing special items to school and the importance of keeping personal belongings safe.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

To maintain safe traffic flow, we kindly remind all parents and drivers that U-turns are strictly prohibited and stopping in the bus lanes during specific times. Local Peace Officers have been actively monitoring the area to ensure compliance and student safety. Thank you for your patience and ongoing cooperation in keeping our school community safe!

School Fees School Fees

Wondering when and how to pay for school fees? School fee information for the 2026-27 school year will be posted on the PowerSchool Parent Portal by September 25th. All fees are due within 30 days of being posted. NOTE: Additional fees may be added throughout the year—for example, at the beginning of each semester, as your child takes part in various activities, or they may be adjusted by changes in selected optional courses in junior and senior high school. If you’re unable to pay your school fees, you can apply to have certain fees waived. The application deadline is Dec. 15, 2026.

Alternatively, contact Shelagh Pastoor at Westboro at 780 467-7751.

Reporting Absences Reporting Absences

Reporting Absences

Please communicate your child’s absence, leaving school early or arriving late directly to

general.wbo@eips.ca or click BUTTON BELOW. These emails are both checked regularly by the school office staff. Do not communicate this information to only the teacher. Situations occur when the homeroom teacher is away and your information will not be received by the office staff who are required to maintain an accurate record of attendance for students throughout the day.

Report an Absence

Going Away Going Away

While you're away, students are encouraged to keep up with their reading and log their adventures in a travel journal. To let everyone fully enjoy their time off, schoolwork won't be assigned during the trip—students will simply catch up on any missed classwork after they return. Happy travels!
