From the Nest... From the Nest...

Dear Sidener Families,

As we close out this week, I want to wish all our Sidener families a wonderful and restful Spring Break. Monday marks the first day of Spring Break for our students, and we hope this time provides an opportunity for rest, connection, and rejuvenation for everyone.

Our students have been working incredibly hard, and we are proud of the growth we continue to see both academically and socially throughout the building. This break is well-deserved, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for the final stretch of the school year.

When we return, there will also be fun spring activities happening around our building, and we are excited for students to participate and continue building positive memories together. Additionally, ILEARN testing will begin in April, and we look forward to supporting our students as they demonstrate all that they have learned this year.

Thank you for your continued partnership and for entrusting us with your most precious gifts. Wishing you sunshine and happiness this Spring Break.

Warm regards,

Dr. Milanda Penn

Sing Me a Song Visit by the Indianapolis Opera!

The Indianapolis opera will once again visit Sidener on Wednesday, March 25th at 1:30pm in the gym! Their Sing Me a Story series is a 45-minute children's mini-opera that comprises of 4 singers and 1 pianist. This will not impact the first and second grade schedule as it will be during their normal UA time. There will be an option for a short Q&A following the performance.

This year's opera is entitled Camilla Paints the Town, which tells the story of Camilla the Chameleon who has only ever known a world of black and white. But one day, she discovers her colors and begins to see the world with a newfound wonder. She excitedly brings a little color to the lives of everyone she meets, who each finds the colorful way she sees things to be both intriguing and perhaps a little scary. In the end, we'll see if Camilla's new friends can see the beauty in a fresh perspective! Read more here.

Music Field Trip with our 3rd Graders!
