Noble Family Newsletter
April 5, 2026
At Noble Elementary, we believe that every student has the right to learn and grow in a safe and respectful environment. We also believe that every student has the power to make positive choices, learn from mistakes, and become stronger leaders in our school community. Noble Elementary empowers all students for college and career readiness through AVID’s schoolwide focus on WICOR, student success skills, and a growth mindset.
Today, we celebrate a season of hope, renewal, and new beginnings. Whether you observe Easter through faith, family traditions, or simply as a time to pause and reflect, we hope your day is filled with peace, joy, and love.
Wishing you a meaningful Easter and a beautiful start to the spring season.
Be Better, Do Better, & Make Better
Noble Families,
As we enter the weeks of OST testing, it is a time for reflection, growth, and partnership—to be better, do better, and make better. In our roles, we have an incredible opportunity to do all three for our students. This season may bring moments of inspiration, challenges, and the strengthening of connections between students, families, and staff. Together, we can focus on being better, doing better, and making better—for ourselves, for Noble, and most importantly, for our students. We are truly excited to take on the OST and all that it will bring.
Over the next couple of months, we will also be reflecting on our practices as part of our ongoing school improvement and evaluation processes. This is a chance to step back and consider where we are at this point in the year and how we can continue to grow. As you think about your child’s experience, we invite you to reflect on the following questions:
- What is working well for your child at Noble?
- What challenges or areas could be improved?
- What big-picture questions or hopes do you have for this school year and the next?
Your insights and feedback are invaluable as we continue to partner with you in supporting our students’ learning and growth.
Mr. Walker, M.Ed.
Principal
From the Assistant Principal's Desk
Noble Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed a smooth transition back after Spring Break and had a chance to rest and recharge over this brief “April Break.” Thank you for your continued support at home—it truly makes a difference in your child’s learning and growth. Over the past week, it has been wonderful to see students demonstrating the Noble Big 4, and the positive growth in both behavior and school culture is evident throughout the building.
To celebrate these efforts, we continue recognizing classes with Golden Tickets when students are caught showing positive behavior in hallways, at recess, during dismissal, and across the school. Once a class earns 12 Golden Tickets, they receive a small celebration to honor their teamwork and commitment to maintaining a positive environment. We are grateful for your support in reinforcing these expectations at home and helping keep the momentum strong.
We also want to acknowledge the care you put into connecting with us and engaging in conversations about your child’s progress. These partnerships are essential in ensuring each student feels supported as we move through the final stretch of the school year.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making Noble a positive, thriving learning community!
.

Staff Spotlight - Ms. Windham
Mary Windham is a dedicated second-grade teacher with decades of experience and a long-standing commitment to the CH-UH and Noble communities. Known for her tough yet positive approach, Ms. Windham believes that “we are a family and all of the children are our responsibility, not just the students in your room.” She brings a nurturing, family-centered perspective to the classroom while maintaining high expectations and a focus on accountability.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Windham enjoys simple pleasures like a cup of coffee or tea from Starbucks or Dunkin’, coffee with Chobani caramel macchiato creamer, Snickers, Classic Lays, and writing with Bic Crystal Pens Bold. She finds inspiration in her mother and lives by the motto, “Don’t make excuses, make adjustments.” A fan of the Golden Girls, she values words of affirmation and meaningful connections with both colleagues and students.
Staff Spotlight - Ms. Wallace
Ms. Yvonne Wallace serves as the Library Media Ancillary and has dedicated 14 years to the Cleveland Heights–University Heights (CH-UH) School District. A proud Heights alumna, she attended both Canterbury and Wiley and has been a Cleveland Heights resident for over 50 years.
Ms. Wallace is deeply connected to the community she serves and brings that pride into her work each day. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family and is especially proud of her role as a Great Auntie.
Stay in the Game Attendance Raffle
Take the "Stay in the Game" Attendance Pledge!
We are excited to invite all our families to participate in the Stay in the Game & Take the Pledge challenge for a chance to be entered into our weekly school raffle! To join in, simply complete the pledge form above.
Please ensure you know our official school schedule (8:45 a.m.), as being on time for the start of the day and staying until the final bell (3:25 p.m.) is vital for student success. Remember that consistency is key: it is true that missing more than two days of school a month has a negative impact on a student's learning. If your child does need to be absent, it is also true that you must call the attendance line at (216-320-4920), even if you have already communicated with their teacher.
Once you’ve answered these questions, please have your student print their name and a parent provide a signature to formalize your family's commitment to prioritizing school attendance every day.
Q4 Attendance Incentive
As we head into the 4th quarter after Spring Break, it’s a fresh start for strong attendance! 🎉 Students in grades 2–5 have a new opportunity to earn an invite to our Attendance Celebration by having 0–1 absences AND 0–1 tardies (over 15 minutes) by the end of the quarter. Let’s finish the year strong—every day counts!
Noble Run Club - Sponsor a Student
Noble Run Club is up and running, with students training twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) in preparation for the Tiger 5K on May 1 at Heights High School! This program promotes healthy habits, goal setting, and perseverance for our students.
Family support plays an important role in keeping students motivated and engaged. Please help encourage participation, celebrate student effort, and promote the $10 sponsorship opportunity with families to help support the program.
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to assist with Run Club—your support helps make this a meaningful and successful experience for our students!

Community Learning Center (CLC) Needs Assessment Survey
Noble Elementary CLC is asking for your support in completing the Community Learning Center (CLC) Needs Assessment Survey.
This survey is an important tool that helps us better understand the needs, interests, and priorities of our students and families. The feedback we receive directly impacts the programs, services, and resources we are able to provide through the CLC.
To make it fun and boost participation, we’re offering a friendly competition:
The grade level with the highest number of completed survey submissions will win a special treat!
Each class within the winning grade will get to choose their celebration:
🍧 Popsicle Party
🍪 Cookie Party
🍿 Popcorn Party
School-Wide Reading Rally Fundraiser
We’ve already raised $1,855 toward our $10,000 goal; what a great start! A special shout-out to our Pre-K and Kindergarten families for helping us get off on the right foot!
As we continue building momentum, we’re excited to encourage participation across Grades 1–5. Your support in promoting daily engagement can make a big difference in helping students stay involved and excited about reading.
Students can log reading minutes each day by watching the kickoff and daily challenge videos through their donation page. Encouraging students to check in daily—both at school and at home—will help keep participation strong.
💡 How families can support:
- Encourage students to participate in daily reading challenges
- Share your pages with family and friends
- Celebrate participation and progress at home
Let’s keep the momentum going and continue building excitement around reading across all grade levels! Thank you for your support in making this a success!

One Book, One School
We are excited to announce the kickoff of our schoolwide reading initiative, One Book, One School, featuring The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies!
Over the next several weeks, all students in grades 1–5 will receive a copy of the book and participate in reading during the school day. Pre-K and Kinder will be reading an age appropriate book with a similar topic. This is a wonderful opportunity to create a shared literacy experience and strengthen connections across our building through a common story.
Ways to support your child at home:
- Encourage your child to engage with the text during designated reading times
- Discuss the story and make connections to deepen comprehension
- Celebrate participation and excitement around the shared reading experience
Families also have access to additional resources, including chapter read-aloud videos, nightly trivia, and more. Students are encouraged to follow the reading calendar to stay on pace with their classmates.
Goals of this initiative:
- Build reading comprehension
- Promote meaningful conversations
- Foster a love of reading across grade levels
- Strengthen our school-wide community
📅 Save the Date – Literacy Night: May 14 | 5:00–6:30 PM
We look forward to celebrating this shared experience with our students and families. Thank you for supporting your child’s reading journey!
