A Message from the Principal, Dr. Martinez

Hello Lobo Parents,

What a fantastic start to the year! Our Lobos have settled into the new school year so well, even with the added challenge of putting away their personal electronic devices. Lunchtime is now filled with the sound of our students actually talking to each other!

We’d love for you to join us at a few upcoming events:

  • Open House on September 8 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
  • Homecoming Parking Lot Party and Pep Rally on September 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Both of these events are a chance for you to feel welcome and a part of our amazing Lobo Pack. You and our students are the heart of our school, and these events are a way to show our Lobo Heart. Please bring the whole family and come spend some time with us!

Lastly, you may not be aware that Langham Creek is a Title I campus. In a nutshell, this means our school receives additional federal funding to support the academic needs of our students because we have a higher number of economically disadvantaged students. To learn more, we invite you to one of our Title I meetings on September 8th during Open House or on September 10th at 9:30 AM in our Teaching Theater.

Thank you for your support and Go Lobos!

Dr. Martinez

Parent Consent Form for Health-Related Services

Dear parents/guardians,

We would like to inform you of an important change in state law that affects how our campus provides health-related services to students. Effective September 1, 2025, all public schools are required to obtain annual written parental consent before providing any routine health care services to students by qualified school staff, including school nurses and athletic trainers.

What does this mean for your child?
Starting September 1, school staff, including school nurses and athletic trainers, will be required to have parent/guardian written consent on file before providing any non-emergent health-related services or medical care to students.

Routine Health-Related Services Provided at Your Child’s Campus:

  • Non-emergent first aid after initial injury evaluation
  • Non-emergent assessment and evaluation of illnesses and physical symptoms
  • Administration of prescription medications in accordance with the law
  • Administration of over-the-counter medications in accordance with law
  • Monitoring of chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, seizures)
  • Vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings
  • Acanthosis screening
  • Coordination of health care

Without consent, school staff will not be able to assess or treat your child for non-emergent health concerns. In case of a serious emergency, staff will still act to protect your child’s safety, call for emergency services, and contact you immediately.

To ensure your child continues to receive timely health-related care and support during the school day, we ask that you complete the Health Services Annual Consent Form as soon as possible using the appropriate link(s) below. You may also find this information on the CFISD Health Services webpage.

We understand this is a significant change, and we appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. If you have any questions or need assistance accessing the form, please contact your child’s school.

Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our students safe, healthy, and supported.

Please select the appropriate form according to your child(ren)’s campus level(s) and complete a separate form for each child.

High School Health Services Annual Consent Form (for students in Grades 9-12)

Please touch base with your nurse to determine if any support is needed as we navigate the new processes associated with this new practice to ensure compliance.

Parent Resources in Schoology

Parents, please take some time to sit with your student and look through their Schoology courses. Within each class, you'll find a 'Parent Resource Folder' which contains important information such as class expectations, grading policies, scope and sequences, and tutoring schedules. This is a great starting place to see what is happening!

Please use the instructions below to access Schoology as a parent:

Student Drop-off and Pick-up

Parents should no longer use the bus loading zone for student drop-off or pick-up, as the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Please refer to the map below and plan accordingly. Additionally, the east parking lot has reopened following last year’s construction. We ask that you review and follow the updated traffic flow in that area.

Get Involved!- Clubs and Organizations

Getting involved in a school organization provides students with the chance to build connections, develop leadership skills, and explore new interests. These experiences help students gain confidence, practice teamwork, and learn responsibility beyond the classroom. Being part of a group also fosters friendships, strengthens their sense of belonging, and creates a deeper connection to the school community. Additionally, colleges and employers value well-rounded students who are active outside the classroom, so participation in school organizations can help students stand out when applying for future opportunities. To learn more about the opportunities available on campus, visit Dr. Fisher’s office!

* NEW* Cell Phones and Personal Communication Devices

A new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit student use of all personal communication devices during the school day. Therefore, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is updating its personal communication device policy.

For the 2025-2026 school year, the use of all personal communication devices is prohibited during the school day. Devices must be turned off and stored in the student’s personal bag or backpack at all times during the school day.

CFISD has created a Personal Communication Devices Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) to address some of the implications of this new policy. Please review the content of this FAQ with your student(s) prior to the start of the 2025-26 school year.

Safety Updates

To help us keep our school safe, please talk to your students about the following important expectations:

  • Student IDs: Students must wear their ID badges at all times while on campus. This is essential for us to know who is in the building. If a student arrives at school without their ID, they will need to purchase a temporary badge for $1.00, which will be added to their campus fees.

  • Clear Backpacks: All students must use clear backpacks. Purses or lunchboxes that are 6x9 inches or smaller are exempt and do not have to be clear.

  • No Hoods Inside: Students are not permitted to wear hoodies with the hoods up inside the school building. This rule helps our staff identify everyone on campus and ensure they belong here.
