Creekside Back to School Newsletter

My name is Brady Sumners and I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve as the principal of Creekside Elementary. This marks my 17th year in education and my 15th year with the Spearfish School District. I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to create the best possible learning environment for every child.

We are excited for our first day of school! We cannot wait to see all of our students! Our school day runs from 8:15 AM to 3:05 PM.

Teachers may have more specific items in their back to school letters to their individual families. Those should be arriving very soon as they were put in the mail August 4th.

When students are dropped off in the morning, they should go to the playground until the first bell rings at 8:10 AM. Please note that playground supervision begins at 7:50 AM; for safety reasons, we kindly ask that students not be dropped off before this time.

Students who are eating school breakfast may enter through the office side doors. Breakfast is served from 7:45 AM to 8:05 AM.

In the event of inclement weather, students will be allowed to wait inside the gym before school begins.

As we all know, navigating a school parking lot can be challenging. To help ensure a smooth flow of traffic and prioritize student safety, please refer to the linked map for guidance on our parking lot procedures.

Above all, we ask for your patience. We understand that everyone has a busy schedule, but the safety of our students remains our top priority.

Annual Student Information Update Instructions

• Once logged in, select "More" on the bottom left side.
• Then click "Online Registration". This will take you to the annual update application.
• Select "Start", then "Begin Registration" and verify the information for each of your students.

• August 25th - Creekside Open House - 2:30 to 4:30 PM
• August 27th - First Day of School
• September 11th - Creekside Picture Day
• September 26th - No School/Staff In-Service
• October 8th - Early Release/Staff PD - Creekside Dismissed at 12:50 PM
