February Recap February Recap

February may have been brief, but it was certainly memorable! Despite the snowy weather and a few shifts in our schedule, the learning never slowed down. Our students truly impressed us with their flexibility and resilience, diving back into lessons and collaborative projects without missing a beat.

The true highlight of the month was celebrating our 100th Day of School. It was a wonderful moment to reflect on 100 days of academic, social, and emotional growth. We are officially "100 days smarter," and we couldn't be prouder of the progress our students make every day.

As we head into March, we look forward to longer days, (hopefully!) warmer weather, and even more opportunities to grow together.

Spreading LOVE and 100 DAYS! Spreading LOVE and 100 DAYS!

Valentine’s Day and the 100th Day of School all in one! It was a day filled with love, laughter, and a heartfelt celebration of how far we’ve come this year. We are so proud of the community we've built over these first 100 days.

Teachers wear RED Teachers wear RED

This month, the Steen staff proudly wore red to raise money and awareness for the American Heart Association. We are honored to support heart health and cardiovascular disease prevention in our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us in championing this important cause!

Kindness Counts Kindness Counts

The Student Council's popular Kindness Confetti initiative is back and going strong this year!

This program celebrates students who are "caught" performing an act of kindness without being prompted. When students demonstrate this selfless behavior, their name is written on a colorful piece of "confetti," which is then proudly displayed in the main hallway for all to see.

At the end of the month, these exemplary students are recognized over the loudspeaker and presented with a certificate.

Congratulations to all of our recent Kindness Confetti recipients for making Steen School a kinder place!

This individual’s dedication to her craft is truly remarkable. She is a professional who is always looking for new ways to elevate each student’s education, actively seeking out engaging activities to keep her kids motivated and excited about learning. One colleague noted her commitment is so deep that she frequently brings in materials from home to ensure her students have every possible resource to succeed.

What truly sets her apart is her ability to work with all students and staff; she has a very unique gift for reaching every learner, regardless of their individual needs or background. Even in the most challenging classroom circumstances, she maintains an unwavering positive attitude. She continues to show up each day with a level of patience, care, and commitment that surpasses all expectations. She is an incredible asset to our team, and her steady heart makes a meaningful difference in our school community every single day.

We are so proud to recognize her hard work. Congratulations to our Staff Hawk of the Month... Ms. Romano!
