Message from Mrs. Rodríguez - Your Simpson Principal
Dear Simpson Families,
As we approach the final week before Winter Break, our hearts are full of gratitude. We closed last week on a truly special note with a beautiful Holiday Family Mixer organized by our Simpson African American Parent Advisory Council (AAPAC). It was a joyful evening that brought our families together in celebration and community. Please enjoy the highlights below from this festive event. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Johnson, our AAPAC President, the AAPAC Board, and all of the parent volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to making this night so meaningful for our students and families.
I would also like to share an important update with our Simpson community. After Winter Break, Dr. Stephen De Francis will begin serving as your new principal. He is currently the Assistant Principal at Kolb Middle School and comes with a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to students and families. Dr. De Francis has shared how excited he is to join Simpson and to get to know our students, staff, and families. I am confident he will do a wonderful job, and we are working closely together to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition.
While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, please know that Simpson will always hold a very special place in my heart. I will miss this incredible community deeply, but I will not be far. I am excited to begin my next chapter as Principal of Rialto Adult School, and I hope to see many of our Simpson parents continuing their educational journeys by enrolling in classes there. It has truly been a blessing and an honor to serve such an amazing school community.
As we enter the holiday season, I encourage all of us to continue caring for one another. If any Simpson families need support in any way—whether resources, food, clothing, counseling, or simply someone to talk to—please reach out. We are here for you. We are a school community, and we support one another.
As always, my door remains open. Please feel free to reach out through ParentSquare, email, phone, or by stopping by the front office if you have any questions or concerns.
With gratitude and warm wishes,
Let’s continue working together to Level Up and Be Ready to Learn!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Ramona Rodriguez

Updates from our Assistant Principal
Hello Families
🌺 Did you know that December 7th is recognized nationwide as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, honoring the brave lives lost during the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. We pause to remember their sacrifice and reflect on the importance of unity and resilience in our nation’s history.
Here are some reminder for the week:
📚 Character Strong Focus: “Empathy” & “Be Kind” This month, students will practice showing empathy and kindness through daily actions—listening to others, offering help, and treating everyone with respect. Families can support this at home by encouraging small acts of kindness each day.
Denise Sanchez
Assistant Principal
These playground play structure rules were developed collaboratively by our teachers with input from our students. Every student has been shown how to use the play structure safely, as well as which areas are designated for their grade level. Our teachers, staff, and administration carefully determined which areas are appropriate for 1st–2nd grade students, 3rd–5th grade students, and which areas are open to all grade levels.
Student safety is always our top priority. To ensure a safe and fun recess experience, an adult is stationed at the play structure during every recess period.
If you have any questions about the rules, the play structure, or supervision, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Sanchez, Assistant Principal, or Mrs. Rodriguez, Principal, by phone or email.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our Seahawks safe and happy!
