Dear McKelvey Primary Families,

I hope to see your student with their grown up tomorrow for Donuts with Grownups!

BIG THANKS to PTO for sponsoring and funding the donuts!

Only ONE adult/student please and NO SIBLINGS.

When: October 31st 8:00-8:45am

Where: McKelvey Primary Cafeteria (Donuts); Library (Book Fair)

Things to Know: Come to the cafe for a donut and special one-on-one time with your student. Then head to the library to shop at the book fair. By 8:45, we ask that you drop your student off in the gym where we will have staff supervising your child, and then head out to your cars from the gym doors. Be careful exiting the lot since arrival will begin at that time.

As always, please reach out if you need anything.

Sincerely,

Dr. Christina Pliske

Save the Date! PTO Meeting – Wednesday, November 5th

Join us for our next PTO Meeting on Wednesday, November 5th from 6:30–7:30 PM in the Primary Library. This meeting is open to both Intermediate and Primary families, and childcare will be provided for school-age children.

Our guest speaker, Brian Kuhn, is an area therapist who partners with Parkway through the Student Wellness Program. At the elementary level, his work focuses on early intervention and proactive support to help identify and address students’ mental health and emotional needs. Brian and his team collaborate closely with families and school staff to provide meaningful support.

This session will be especially helpful for 3rd–5th grade parents, as Brian will also share information about the upcoming “Adolescence 101” sessions offered at NEMS.

We hope to see you there! It’s a great opportunity to connect, learn, and stay involved in our school community.

Below is a link to our district calendar (click the blue button) as well as a snapshot of the half and no school days throughout the year. We know unplanned absences will occur, but your child's attendance is extremely important. We miss them when they are gone and they miss important learning and social interaction when they are not at school. If possible, when planning for appointments and/or vacations, please attempt to use the afternoons of half days or days off school throughout the year.
