School Closure Study Information and Website School Closure Study Information and Website

If you have any questions or would like more information on the School Closure Study, here is the district website you can access.

Nebo School District School Closure Information

This is from the email that was sent to all parents and families on Thursday, March 12th.

Dear Parents and Families,

I need to share some important news with our school community. At the school board meeting last night, the board voted to begin a study to gather information and consider the impact of closing Wilson Elementary at the end of the 2026-2027 school year.

This discussion comes as a result of declining enrollment across all of the schools in the Payson area. In addition, the city is currently in the process of purchasing Wilson Elementary, which does impact the future use of this site.

We know this brings many emotions. Wilson has meant so much to so many families, staff members, and students over the years. We share the same sadness and sense of uncertainty that many in our community may feel.

Regardless of the the outcome of the study, our focus remains exactly where it has always been- on our students. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive environment with meaningful learning and connection for every child.

Tonight during SEP conferences, we encourage everyone to keep the focus on celebrating our students. They are the heart of this school, and the incredible work they are doing deserves to be recognized.

If you would like to ask questions or share feedback during this process, please visit us in the office or use THIS LINK.

Thank you for being part of this community and for the care and support you show our students every day. We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Jorgensen

We are excited to kick off a schoolwide attendance push from April 13th through May 8th as we head into a very important time for learning and end-of-year testing! To celebrate, we will host a fun and engaging Glow Party for students who meet the attendance goal.

To qualify, students may have no more than one absence and one tardy during this time. Please note that all absences and tardies—whether excused or unexcused—will count toward this total.

This is a critical stretch of the school year, and being present each day plays a key role in your child’s success. We are aiming for a strong finish, and your support makes all the difference! Thank you for helping your child be at school, on time, and ready to learn each day—we look forward to celebrating their efforts!

End of Year Testing Support End of Year Testing Support

Our end-of-year testing window will begin the week after Spring Break, and we are excited to see our students show what they have learned! This is an important time, and it is essential that students are at school each day and on time so they can complete their testing within the assigned time.

Families can help by keeping routines simple and consistent. Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats breakfast, and comes to school ready to learn. Encouraging a positive mindset goes a long way—remind your child to do their best and take their time.

Thank you for your support in helping our students feel confident and prepared. We are proud of their hard work and look forward to a strong finish to the school year!
