From the Senior Leadership Team – Term 2, Week 11
Dear Parents, Whānau, and Friends,
As we finish another great school term, the Senior Leadership Team wants to thank you all. The last eleven weeks have been full of learning, growth, and community spirit. From great work in the classroom to exciting sports events, it has been a term to remember.
Here are some of our favourite highlights:
Inside the Classroom: Great Learning
Our students have worked very hard and shown great curiosity. They asked excellent questions and explored important topics:
Who We Are: Students learned about identity, health, and what connects us as people. They practised empathy and understanding others.
How the World Works: Students became young scientists! They conducted experiments to observe how physical and chemical changes occur in our world.
We are very proud of the hard work and excellent thinking all of our students showed in class.
Sports Camp Success
A big congratulations to our amazing Sports Camp team! They went to Matamata to compete against other schools. The weather was freezing and very rainy, but our students did not give up.
They worked beautifully as a team and placed 2nd overall! We are so proud of how they supported each other and showed our school values in the mud and rain.
Cultural Fortnight & Food Truck Night
Our Cultural Fortnight was a wonderful celebration of the many different cultures in our school. Students took part in special workshops, shared stories, and learned about each other.
The best part of the two weeks was our Food Truck Night! Even though the day changed on the calendar, so many families came to support us. The school courtyard was full of music, laughter, and delicious food from all over the world. Thank you to everyone who cooked, helped, and attended.
Farewell and thank you!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Yvette Wong for all her hard work over the last few years. Yvette is heading overseas for a couple of years and we welcome back Becks Spurdle-Fisher to the school
Starting in term 3 we will also be welcoming Hannah Jenkins as a new full time release teacher and Melody Clampitt as a dedicated Reading Support teacher as part of our Learner Support team.
Looking Ahead
We could not do these amazing things without our great teachers, hard-working students, and supportive families.
We hope you all have a safe, relaxing winter holiday. Stay warm, enjoy time with your family, and we look forward to seeing you all back next term!
Ngā mihi nui,
The Senior Leadership Team

ICAS is an online academic competition that gives students the opportunity to challenge their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills. TNIS will host 3 subjects in 2026: English, Mathematics and Science.
ICAS results are in-depth and meaningful, and ICAS evaluates student performance against other competition entrants across the state and nation. The data reveals student strengths and weaknesses and can help you recognise and support your child's academic journey.
