Tigers Wear Orange on October 21 for Unity Day!
Orange you glad it’s almost Unity Day? Unity Day is our chance to stand together as a district and spread kindness!
Here’s how WCHE Tigers can show their spirit on Wednesday, October 21:
WEAR ORANGE: Rock your brightest orange outfit to school to show we stand for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion!
SPREAD THE WORD: Talk with your friends, family, and classmates about what unity means to you.
SIGN THE POSTER: Stop by the Unity poster during lunch to add your name and take the pledge!
Let’s turn WCHE into a sea of orange and show everyone what Tiger kindness is all about!
Thank you for being present, Tigers!
Each week, we award a "Golden Goose" to the class with the best attendance in their grade level. The winning classes get to dress their goose as they wish (yes, our geese have a wardrobe) and keep the goose for the week.
The classes winning the "Golden Goose" for last week's attendance are:
PreK.................Mrs. Hanley & Mrs. Richards' classes tied
Kindergarten.....Mrs. Wade's class
1st Grade..........Mrs. Mueller's class
2nd Grade.........Mrs. Dulany's class
3rd Grade..........Mrs. Miller's class
4th Grade..........Mrs. McDaniel's class
5th Grade..........Mrs. Lively's class
Congratulations, Tigers! And, thank you to our parents for helping our Tigers to be present and on time. We appreciate you!

Testing Timeline
The referral window for 1st-12th grade opens at the beginning of the school year and remains open through the end of the 1st grading period. A teacher, parent, student, or other interested person observing a student with consistent evidence of gifted characteristics may refer him/her during the appropriate referral window; however, a parent must be the one to complete the official referral form, which gives us permission to assess the student.
LTISD Elementary G/T Referral Form - Open 8/12/2026, Close 10/15/2026
LTISD Secondary G/T Referral Form - Open 8/12/2026, Close 10/15/2026
LTISD Kinder G/T Referral Form - Closed
Newly enrolled students arriving after the Fall deadline will be assessed per referral request during the 3rd 9-week grading period. Students arriving during the 4th grading period may be referred for testing the following school year. Students previously enrolled in a Gifted and Talented program in another school district cannot be assessed until they are properly enrolled in LTISD.
The Kindergarten referral window for Elementary campuses will open at the beginning of the Spring semester and will remain open through the end of the 3rd 9-week grading period.
Parents have the right to appeal the results of their child's assessment results. Appeals must be received by the campus GT coordinator, in writing, by January 31st for students assessed in the Fall semester and by May 15th for students assessed in the Spring. Please reference the Discovery Program Guide above for more specific details regarding the appeal process.
