Message from the Principal

JAJHS Families,

The cooler fall weather has arrived!

It’s hard to believe that we’ve arrived at the end of the 1st quarter. It has been such a great start to the school year as our students have transitioned into a year of getting #BetterEveryDay! Through our fall athletics, our music program, and classroom academics, I’m so proud of the ways our students continue to grow and shine!

Please be sure to read the newsletter below for important reminders and activities around our school.

Sincerely,

Mr. Malany

Principal

Orders can no longer be placed from the initial picture date - until the picture packages come in. If you didn’t order you will still receive an envelope with a proof of your student's picture. There is a direct ordering link and you will be provided with a password to view your student's picture and place an order.

Halloween Costume Day

We are excited to continue the longstanding JAJHS tradition of enjoying Halloween costumes on Friday, October 27th. Please remind your student to help us keep this tradition positive with the following reminders:

  • Costumes should be tasteful and appropriate for school.

  • Absolutely no weapons or lookalike objects will be allowed.

  • Costumes should not include full face masks - we want to see the smiles!

Third Annual Pumpkin Drop!

We are hosting our THIRD annual Pumpkin Drop planned tentatively for Friday, October 27th. Students will be decorating pumpkins during advisory to promote unity and teamwork. A panel of judges will select 10 pumpkins to drop via an AEP truck in front of the entire school!

A FEW MORE DONATIONS ARE NEEDED: the link to sign up to donate is HERE.

JAMFEST 2023!

JAMfest will be Saturday, October 28th, starting at 5:00 P.M. You can bring a carved pumpkin to enter into a contest, check out all the silent auction baskets and items, watch our talented performers, and enjoy food from our food trucks. It’s going to be a great event this year!!

JAJHS Parent/Teacher Conferences

This year at the Jr. High, we are offering two types of Parent/Teacher Conferences:

1) Team conferences on Thursday, Nov 2, from 3:00 P.M. - 6:30 P.M. where your child's whole team of teachers request a conference to meet with you at the same time. This day is reserved for teacher-requested conferences only. We will contact you to set up a team conference if that is what is needed at this time.

2) Individual conferences on Monday, Nov 6, from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M., where you choose time slots for the teachers you would like to meet with. If you'd like to schedule an individual conference, please see the Sign-Up Genius that will be coming out soon. You must sign up for each teacher you would like to see individually- only the teacher you sign up for will be in attendance. Please select teachers for their own time slot. For example, (Woolley: 3:00, Garner: 3:15, Heinig: 3:30) Please do not sign up for this option if we are requesting a team conference with you. Please use this option only if YOU are choosing to meet with individual teachers.

We look forward to teaming with you to build success for each student!
