Grade 8 End of Year Events

• Up Day – June 10

On June 10, the 8th-grade students will walk to Maynard High School for Up Day activities. The program will run from 11:30 a.m. until the end of the school day. Lunch will be provided at the high school, and students will return to Fowler in time for regular dismissal.

• APEX End-of-Year Trip – June 11

On June 11, the 8th-grade class will travel to APEX Entertainment for their end-of-year trip. Students will leave Fowler at approximately 8:15 a.m. and return around 1:30 p.m.

The trip includes:

• Laser tag
• Ropes course
• Arcade card
• Bowling

Lunch will include two slices of pizza and unlimited drinks. Students should remember to bring socks to wear with the bowling shoes.

• Trivia Day – June 15

On June 15, the 8th graders will participate in an all-day trivia competition. Students will be divided into five teams, each assigned a team color. Trivia topics will include academic subjects as well as pop culture topics such as sports, movies, and music.

Team colors will be announced closer to the event, and students are encouraged to wear their assigned color on Trivia Day.

• Last Lunch – June 17

After five years of lunches at Fowler, the 8th graders will celebrate their “Last Lunch” on June 17. The celebration will include:

• A BBQ lunch provided by the cafeteria
• An ice cream truck sponsored by the NJHS
• Outdoor games and activities

The festivities will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue through the end of the school day. Students are encouraged to bring and apply sunscreen for the outdoor activities.

• Promotion Ceremony – June 18

The 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place on June 18 at 9:00 a.m. in the Fowler Auditorium. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend.

Following the ceremony, 8th-grade students will be dismissed for the summer, even if dismissal occurs before the regular 11:15 a.m. release time.
