Don't worry! Summer isn't over YET! I hope you had a wonderful summer whether your family traveled, stayed locally, or a combination of both! As the school year approaches, there is critical information for our families to know!

We are excited for our staff to return to school; however, we want them to enjoy as much of their summer as possible as well. Our 6th graders begin school on Wednesday, August 20th for a day of fun and orientation. Orientation is a whole school day starting at 7:54. When arriving at WMS, 6th-graders should go to the playground/blacktop behind the school. Once there, students will receive further instructions. ALL students' first day of school will be Thursday, August 21st. The school day begins at 7:54 and ends at 3:45. Upon arrival, all students should go to the WMS playground/blacktop. There is NO school for ALL students on Friday, August 22nd.

We look forward to the 2025-2026 school year and our halls and classrooms feeling alive with our WMS Demons.

I am sharing this information again regarding our WMS Band start to the school year ensuring you are aware of the appreciation we have for Mrs. Svenvold and Mrs. Strehlow for their assistance till our new Band teacher, Ms. Dahl, begins.

Our 3rd Annual Back to School Bash is on Tuesday, August 25 from 5:00-7:00 located in the WMS gym! Let's celebrate the start of the school year with some fun!

There are various ways to volunteer during the event such as helping with stations, to gather prizes, etc. If you would like to volunteer to help, please reach out to Mrs. Kennedy by emailing her at kennedyk@glendiveschools.org or by calling the school.

It feels like stores are beginning their school supply sales earlier than ever, so we hope this may help you!.

Here are some important dates to start off the WMS Fall Season of Sports!

• Thursday, August 14 at 6:30, WMS Gym- Parent meeting for student-athletes participating in Cross Country, Football and Volleyball.
• Friday, August 15- First practices for Cross Country, Football, and Volleyball.
• WMS Cross Country practice will start at 9:00. Meet at the WMS gym.
• More information will be provided as times are determined for Football and Volleyball. Stay tuned.

Other Sports Information

• We are happy 6th grade students are able to participate in many sports. For the Fall Season, they can participate in Volleyball and Cross Country.
• Please note the Mon-Dak Conference no longer exists. Activities Direct Murphy has collaborated with area schools and set us up for success for competition.
• All sports schedules are noted on our WMS Calendar. See the quick link button below or go to the WMS website.
• Our student-athletes are required to have a current sports physical completed after May 1st, 2025 to participate. One option that is available is through GMC. GMS is holding sports physicals August 7 from 1:30-4:00 at Gabert Clinic.
