Highlighting Career Exploration: EASTCONN’s Mobile Manufacturing Lab Visits LMS
This past month, 7th and 8th grade students at LMS had the exciting opportunity to engage with EASTCONN’s Mobile Manufacturing Lab—a hands-on experience designed to spark interest in the world of manufacturing. The lab serves a critical purpose: to educate and inspire students about the innovative and expanding field of manufacturing, starting at an early age.
The experience is part of a broader effort to introduce students to potential career paths and to build awareness of related coursework available at Lyman Memorial High School. With Connecticut being home to numerous manufacturing pioneers, and with job opportunities in this field growing rapidly across our region, this kind of early exposure is invaluable. Many of these positions not only offer high wages but are also in high demand, making them attractive and accessible career options for our future graduates.
EASTCONN’s Mobile Manufacturing Lab brings real-world applications directly into the classroom, serving as a dynamic bridge between education and industry. It allows students to see firsthand how their skills and interests could translate into meaningful, well-paying careers in making, building, and innovating—right here in our state.
We’re excited about the potential this experience ignites and are grateful not only to EASTCONN, but also for our ongoing partnership with Electric Boat, whose collaboration helps strengthen our efforts to provide students with access to authentic, high-quality career exploration opportunities in the manufacturing sector.

Welcome Steve Wrona to Lebanon Public Schools
I am pleased to announce that Mr. Steve Wrona has joined Lebanon Public Schools as our new Armed Security Officer. Steve brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise that make him an outstanding fit for this vital role.
Steve’s professional background makes him uniquely qualified for this position. A graduate of Rockville High School, Steve went on to serve five years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps, where he specialized in Marine Security Forces.
In 2008, Steve began his law enforcement career with the Bloomfield Police Department, serving as a patrol officer and taking on several key roles, including Senior Firearms Instructor, Field Training Officer, and School Resource Officer at Bloomfield High School. He retired from the department in January 2021 and has since continued to serve school communities through security roles at Bloomfield High School and Global Experience Magnet School.
Steve’s deep experience in security, law enforcement, and school safety, paired with his clear dedication to protecting others, will be an asset to our district. We are excited to welcome him to Lebanon Public Schools and look forward to the leadership he will bring to this critical area.
Please join me in warmly welcoming Mr. Steve Wrona to his new role!

The family care coordinator role already encompasses what our Lebanon school district mental health teams provide for students and families. Providing students with access to mental health resources within the community and bringing mental health services to students inside of the school has always been a priority in our district. Please reach out if there are any specific mental health topics, community programs, therapeutic referrals or town programs and resources that you would like to know more about.
