The Austin Gazette

Hi Austin Families,

There’s a lot of excitement in the air this week at Austin! On Wednesday, we’ll join schools across the country in celebrating Unity Day. Students and staff are encouraged to wear orange to show our support for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Together, we can stand up to bullying and make sure every child feels seen, safe, and valued.

Then on Friday, it’s time for one of Austin’s favorite traditions—our Annual Fall Festival! This decades-old event brings our families together for an evening of fun, food, games, and community. It’s also our biggest PTO fundraiser of the year, helping provide spirit shirts for every student! The Fall Festival is organized by a small but mighty group of parent volunteers who pour their hearts into making this event special, and they can’t do it without your help and attendance!

Be sure to check out the Live Auction, where students can bid for the chance to “rule the school” for a day as Principal for a Day! Other exciting campus jobs will also be up for auction, but of course, the principal job is the most awesome one of all.

Keep reading through this newsletter for more details on all of these events—including our upcoming Storybook Parade on October 31, another long-loved Austin tradition that lets students bring their favorite characters to life!

See you at school and at the Fall Festival!

This week is National School Bus Safety Week — a perfect time to thank our amazing bus drivers! Each day, they take on one of the toughest and most important jobs on campus: getting our students to and from school safely. We appreciate their patience, skill, and care in keeping our Cubs safe on the road every single day!
