Please remember to send your child with clothes for all weather. The warmer weather is creating amazing puddles and mud. Please send your child with a change of clothes, just in case.

We Need Your Input... We Need Your Input...

Dear parents,

As part of our commitment to providing the best possible support and resources for students receiving special education services, we invite you to participate in the annual Parent Involvement survey conducted by the New Hampshire Department of Education (NHED).

This brief survey is to gauge the level of parent involvement in our schools and how it contributes to improving services and outcomes for children with special education. The survey window is April 11, 2025 until May 23rd, 2025. All responses are anonymous.

To access the survey, visit this NHDOE website.

Please complete a separate survey for each child receiving special education services in your family. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in your child's education.

We were excited to welcome artist Julie Brown to Francestown Elementary School! Julie worked with our students to create a beautiful mosaic mural that reflects our Outdoor Lion’s Learning experiences and celebrates the vibrant FES community.

Earlier this year, students submitted sketches inspired by their learning and our natural surroundings. Julie thoughtfully combined these designs into a single piece of artwork. The final mural will be a symbol of our students’ connection to the world around them and the strong sense of community we share at FES.

Special Thank you to the New Hampshire Environmental Educators (NHEE). The grant money given to support OLL brought Julie Brown to our school.

A Busy Week!

This week has been a busy week in kindergarten! On Monday we started working on the mosaic. Students enjoyed learning about mosaics and experimenting with the tiles before starting on the real thing! On Wednesday we had a great time at OLL in the morning. In the afternoon students had a surprise visit from Ms. Curley's mom! She brought stories and crafts! Students got to make flowers and raindrops, make sure to check them out next week at PRIDE meeting!

Can You Find Me?

We had another great week in 1st and 2nd grade. This week in Math, we began learning time and measurement, and we learned how to create our own word problems. In Science, we continued to learn about animals. We learned that different animals can camouflage themselves into their surroundings to help them survive. We also had the opportunity this week to help create a beautiful mosaic.

In the upcoming weeks, our class will again work with the Harris Center and Cornucopia Project. Volunteers are needed—please check Class Dojo for more details.

This week we began our research unit in library. In Kindergarten, we learned about the life cycle of butterflies and made our own chrysalis and butterflies. In first and second grade, we researched different insects and learned how to brainstorm and then take information from PebbleGo to create a report. In third and fourth grade, we learned how to navigate different research databases, and take notes about an influential person of our choice. We also learned about primary versus secondary sources.
