Beanstack is Up and Running for Elementary School

Our new reading reward program, Beanstack, is up and running for all elementary students. Students in grades one and two have already begun their reading adventure at school and at home using the Beanstack website through Clever and the app available for home use. The AAA reading goal for this year is for each student to read 40 books by May 2027. This puts us at a community goal of 16,000 books! With your help, we know we can not only meet this goal, but exceed it!!! We have already received our first school-wide award from Beanstack called the SPARK Award for student participation. Please help us keep this fun momentum going all year long!

HCS Magnet Applications Open Soon

Applications open October 13th for students interested in attending an HCS magnet program for the 2027-2028 school year. If you have a student already enrolled at AAA but are interested in admission for a sibling, we encourage you to apply early!

Students already enrolled in HCS magnet programs do not need to reapply unless your child is an 8th grader with an interest in attending Lee High's arts magnet, New Century Technology High School, or the College Academy at Jemison High. Rising 9th graders will need to apply for admission to these programs and again, we encourage early application.

If you have questions about the application or admissions process, please reach out to magnet@hsv-k12.org.
