CubConnectionsBlended Learning Week 5- May 11-15, 2020

Welcome to Week 5 of our Blended Learning Plan

Parents and students have done an amazing job of learning from home. We are almost there. Keep pressing on until May 22nd! If you have worked ahead and finished the work, then we encourage you to check out the extra resources on the Digital Backpack page or just read a good book!

Monday morning begins Week 5 of our Blended Learning Plan. Remember, we are here to support you!

Lessons for PE and all "specials"

In each weekly Cub Connection between now and May 22nd, we will list the lesson plans for our PE and "Specials." Specials include art, computer, guidance, and library. Your student attends PE daily but we will only post lessons for 2-3 days. They also attend each of these specials once a week so there is only one lesson for the week for these classes.

New plans will be posted each week but the plans will remain from past weeks as well. This way, they can be done at any time between now and May 22nd.

If you have questions about these lessons, please email the teacher:

Student Supply Kits may be ordered through Friday, May 15th.

It's FINALLY time to order school supply kits! Just like everything else, it's going to be a little different this year. These are the same supply kits we have always gotten, but this year, we are going to order them off the company's website. Follow the link below and enter Endeavor's code (80068) to get started:

https://www.shopttkits.com/

The website will be open until May 15th.

Registration for 2020-2021 is taking place NOW

Please go online and register your student for the 2020-2021 school year. Snap codes have been mailed twice to the email we have on file. If you cannot locate your snap code, please email Mrs. Dunham and she will be happy to help you. She is also the lady with all the answers to everything registration! She is currently working on Mondays and Thursdays and can be reached at cdunham@mcssk12.org.

Personal Belongings, Library Books, Chromebook Return, etc.

As of right now, the Central Office is saying that the return of items will take place when we return to school. Library books, textbooks, and books that belong to classroom teachers that students have at home should be kept in a safe place and returned to school the first week. There will be a Chromebook drop off at some point, but we have not been given a date yet. When the work is complete, the students may continue to use the Chromebooks until we let you know that a drop off is taking place.

Personal belongings that students left in their lockers or desks are being placed in bags with the student's name and homeroom teacher. Teachers will be the ones collecting these personal items. If there is something specific that you wish to ensure that you get back, please email your child's teacher. We will do our best to locate all personal items and keep these in a safe place until they can be returned to students. I am hoping that there will be a pick-up for 5th graders prior to the start of school.

If there is something that you must retrieve sooner, please email me and I will find a way to get the item for you. If your student is withdrawing, email me or Mrs. Dunham and as you withdraw, we will gather all of the personal belongings for you.

Let us know if you have questions. jmcalister@mcssk12.org or cdunham@mcssk12.org

Parent Requests for Next School Year

Parents often email us, throughout the summer, asking for certain things for their child for the next school year. If there are things you would like us to consider in the placement of your child for next school year, please complete the form below rather than emailing. This will ensure that emails are not missed or lost. Please complete a separate form for each child.

Grades K-4 will be self-contained next year as a result of the consideration of many data points including information from parent surveys. A list of our staff for next year will be available by mid-June or sooner. I will post this as soon as all positions are finalized.

Leigh Brown

Leigh Brown retires from teaching at the end of this school year. She has taught many of your students to read and to love learning. She has the heart of a teacher and will now spend her time with family and will enjoy being able to do more things with her two children. Thank you for all you have given to education Ms. Brown.

Shelly Thornton

Shelly Thornton is going from teaching in the classroom to being a full-time home school teacher. She will be teaching her own son at home next year. She has encouraged so many children to be engaged in learning by making her classes relevant and something a child would want to be a part of. Thank you Mrs. Thornton for all you have done for Endeavor students.

We also want to say thank you to Michelle Bardgett and all of our Endeavor PTA. This has been a crazy year and our PTA has been right there beside us, offering support at every turn. We appreciate Michelle and all of our parents who give of themselves to support education.
