🦅📖 Teaching & Learning Highlights 🦅📖
🎓 Senior Baccalaureate Service 🎓
Sunday's Senior Baccalaureate Service at Scott’s Branch Middle/High School was nothing short of inspiring! 🦅💙
Thank you to Board Member Reverend Johnny Lawson for pouring wisdom, encouragement, and truth into the lives of our seniors through a powerful message rooted in Nehemiah 6:1-3. Thank you as well to our SB Senior Choir for the uplifting selections that blessed everyone in attendance. 🎶
Rev. Lawson reminded our students to “spit out fear and swallow courage,” to stand firm, speak boldly, and never allow anyone else’s “mess” to stop their progress. He encouraged students to know who they are, make up their own minds, and be proud to be from Scott’s Branch because “you are from where it all started!” 💙
Students were challenged to:
✨ Soar like an Eagle
✨ Invest in today for the hope of tomorrow
✨ Let their light shine
✨ Break down barriers and lead the way
✨ Open their mouths and speak boldly without fear
One message that resonated throughout the gym was simple yet powerful: “Nehemiah said, ‘I have done a good work.’”
Seniors, walk proudly into your future knowing greatness already lives within you. The world is waiting on your voice, your courage, and your leadership. 🦅
🦅🏆 8th Grade Recognition 🏆🦅
On Tuesday, we celebrated and recognized the hard work and efforts of our eighth grade students. Congratulations to each of you. Thank you to all our parents, guardians, and families who were able to join us in recognizing these students. Thank you to all our student leaders who spoke at the ceremony. 💚Mental Health Awareness Month💚
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Scott’s Branch Middle/High School was proud to engage students and staff in meaningful conversations about mental wellness. Our school social worker, Marjetta J. Butler, encouraged everyone to reflect on the importance of maintaining and improving their mental health by sharing positive coping strategies, self-care practices, and ways to support one another. Each individual was encouraged to write on their white cards what they do daily to improve and maintain their mental health and awareness.
From students to staff, the responses highlighted the power of rest, talking with trusted individuals, prayer, exercise, music, family support, and taking time for self-care. These conversations reminded us that mental health is just as important as physical health.
Together, we can continue to break the stigma, encourage open dialogue, and create a supportive school community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. 💙💛
