New school year, new bus routes
As we get ready to welcome students back, some magnet school bus stop locations have changed to help provide safer, more reliable and more efficient transportation.
Many magnet school students will now pick up and drop off at designated elementary school sites instead of previous neighborhood locations.
Some other bus stop locations have also changed from last year.
Transportation information is still being finalized, so be sure to check PowerSchool regularly for the latest bus stop locations, route details and times. We recommend checking again closer to Aug. 6 as updates continue.
Thank you for your patience as our transportation team works to ensure a smooth start to the school year!

Working alongside donors, businesses and community partners, the Foundation will continue investing in innovative programs and resources that help every FWCS student succeed in school, career and life.
Schools of Success comes to life
with 3DE and Guaranteed Experiences
As another school year begins, Fort Wayne Community Schools continues to place a strong emphasis on Guaranteed Experiences through its Schools of Success powered by 3DE initiative, helping students connect classroom learning to college, careers and life after graduation.
These intentionally planned experiences bring learning to life through career exploration, industry partnerships, hands-on projects and community engagement. They help students build confidence, develop essential skills and better understand the opportunities that await them after graduation.
At the high school level, Schools of Success is powered by 3DE, an innovative instructional model developed by Junior Achievement that transforms learning through real-world business challenges and authentic problem-solving experiences. Students work in teams to tackle case studies presented by local and national business partners, applying academic concepts while strengthening critical thinking, communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
Guaranteed Experiences are what bring Schools of Success to life. They support the district's transformational approach to preparing every student for the Monday after graduation and beyond. Whether students choose college, employment, military service or entrepreneurship, the initiative helps ensure they graduate ready for whatever comes next.
Schools of Success began with a simple but important question: How can schools better prepare students for the future?
Today, that vision is shaping learning at every grade level. Students begin exploring careers in elementary school, make stronger connections between academics and future opportunities in middle school, and participate in career pathways, dual-credit courses, work-based learning and industry partnerships in high school.
Through 3DE, students regularly collaborate with business leaders and community partners who bring real-world perspectives into the classroom. By solving authentic challenges and presenting their ideas to industry professionals, students gain valuable experience that prepares them for success beyond graduation.
The impact extends well beyond academics.
When students understand how classroom learning applies in the real world, they become more engaged and more confident. They discover new interests, develop lasting skills and begin to envision future possibilities. At the same time, teachers are creating more relevant learning experiences while partnerships with businesses, colleges and community organizations continue to expand opportunities for students.
Schools of Success powered by 3DE is more than an initiative. It is a commitment to ensuring every student graduates prepared for success in college, careers and life. Throughout the school year, Guaranteed Experiences will continue helping students discover their interests, develop essential skills and connect what they learn today with the opportunities of tomorrow.
Student Perspectives
"Schools of Success powered by 3DE allows FWCS to fulfill its vision of educating all students to high standards and empowering them to reach their full potential. Education is about more than math, English and science. It's also about building confidence, self-direction, creativity and innovation." - Eman Sayara, Northrop, Class of 2028
"Schools of Success powered by 3DE teaches real-life skills instead of just regular classroom work all the time. It helped me learn teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity, and how to think more professionally. I also like how we get to work on real-world situations because it makes learning feel more meaningful and interesting." - Taliyah (Tilly) Moore, Wayne, Class of 2028

Snider prepares for stadium ribbon cutting
Legendary Snider coach Russ Isaacs is being recognized with two incredible honors celebrating a lifetime of leadership and service. The FWCS Board of School Trustees recognized Isaacs for his induction into the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, one of the highest honors in high school athletics. In addition, Snider's new on-campus stadium will be named in his honor. Snider alumni and NFL stars Rod Woodson and Jesse Bates III recently shared their reactions to the new stadium.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony for Russ Isaacs Stadium will take place Aug. 10. Leading up to the event, FWCS social media will share additional stories and exclusive content featuring Woodson and Bates as they celebrate the coach who helped shape Snider's proud tradition.
North Side honors a century of Legends
North Side High School officially launched its year-long Centennial Celebration with an opening ceremony that brought together generations of students, alumni, educators and community members to honor 100 years of Red Knight pride.
The celebration welcomed alumni from across the decades back to campus to reconnect, share memories and celebrate the school's rich history alongside current students and families. The event reflected the lasting impact North Side has had on the Fort Wayne community since opening its doors in 1926.
The kickoff marks the beginning of a year filled with special events recognizing the people, traditions and accomplishments that have shaped North Side High School over the past century. Throughout the Centennial Celebration, alumni and friends of the school will continue to gather to honor the legacy of the Red Knights while celebrating the future of the next generation.
As part of the Centennial Celebration, North Side will honor past and present staff members at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in the school cafeteria. Whether you were a teacher, secretary, custodian, coach, administrator or served in another role, you are invited to celebrate the people who helped shape generations of Legends.
