Liberty Primary School | Liberty, SC

Happy New Year!
Welcome, 2025! It was great having our Wolfpack back in the building today. I hope you all had a great winter break and are ready for the second semester of school! We continue to work hard in preparing our students to be the best student with a strong foundation. If there is ever anything you need to ensure success for your child, please reach out. We are here to partner with you on this learning journey.
As we start the second semester, I challenge you to make school attendance and on-time arrival a priority. School starts at 7:50 AM. It is important that our students arrive on time to start their day with their classmates. Please work to make this a priority as we start a new year...on time arrival and good attendance are habits that will set our students up for long term success if life. Let's start now!
As always, thank you for trusting us with your children. We are honored to serve your family. Let us know if you need anything.
Wishing you well,
Jessica Patterson, Principal

October 7, 2024
Dear LPS Families,
It is hard to believe that we are well into the 1st quarter of the 2024-2025 school year. We have had a great start to the year! The fall is always a busy season - from book fair to family nights and field trips, we have lots of fun heading our way soon!
We are excited to enhance our learning experiences with field trips - both off-campus AND in-house field trip opportunities- this year just as we have in the past!
On November 1st, we are looking forward to our fifth annual LPS Fall Festival. The festivities take place during the school day. Students participate with their class in several seasonal activities, including hayride, pallet maze, square dancing, and much more. Students may wear their Halloween costumes as well! This day is always a student favorite!
During the month of December, we will celebrate learning through STEM. Students will participate in a Gingerbread House challenge and other STEM activities throughout the weeks leading up to Winter Break. An in-house field trip experience will be included as students learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! Our students love this time of exploration.
In addition, during the last week of school (May 19-23), we will celebrate our school year with Summer Celebration week! Summer Celebration week has a theme for each day where students will participate in the themed activities such as Carnival Day (rides, carnival games, and more!), Field Day (games and relays), Water Day (last year, we had a Foam Party and fire truck!), and much more! It promises to be a fun week of learning and celebration.
To help support these experiences, we are asking each student to contribute $30 for the supplies and funding of these experiences. Parents may pay in one lump sum ($30) or in (3) installments of $10 each, with the first payment ($10) submitted by October 25th, the second payment ($10) submitted by December 2nd, and the final payment ($10) made by March 28th . Please send cash or check to your child’s teacher or pay through myschoolbucks.com.
Thank you for all your support to help bring the “magic” of these learning experiences to our students! We continue to look forward to a great school year!
Wishing you well,
Jessica Patterson

Attendance Information
Please be sure you are sending in an excuse for your child if he or she is absent. To help, as an option, we've created a form you can complete online if needed to serve as an excuse. You can either scan the QR code on the picture or click on the link below to access this form.
As a reminder, when your student is absent, please fill out this form within 3 days of returning to school or you may email a written excuse to ELPSNotificationsDL@pickens.k12.sc.us within 3 days of returning from the absence.
If you email an excuse, please provide the following information: the student's name, date of absence, and reason for absence. If you need to send a doctor's note, you can scan or take a picture and attach it to the email.
If you would like to pre-arrange an absence, the request must be received 5 days before the absence with all of the same information listed above.
If you have questions, please call 864-397-4800.
Lunch Box Tip
If your child only needs a milk to go with his or her lunch box, there’s a 60-cent charge. But did you know they can select a fruit, vegetable, and milk—or another combination of three items—and get it for free? This option helps ensure students have a well-rounded meal at no extra cost!
LPS Staff Shout Outs
We have an amazing staff at LPS! Do you know a LPS teacher or staff member that has really helped you, your student, or your family? Has a teacher been highly effective or motivating? Or maybe a staff member just went above and beyond and you want to give them a special shout out!
Our staff takes great pride in helping students and families achieve their highest potential. Take a few minutes and let our staff know how much you appreciate their work! We will share these notes with the staff and one staff member will be selected each month for special recognition!
WOLF 87.9 FM
We're excited about our new school radio station, WOLF 87.9 FM! Tune in during morning drop-off for important updates and directions to help keep things moving in the mornings! We hope everyone in your vehicle will enjoy grooving to our music as students get into the groove this school year!
