High-Five Fri-Yay with our Bus Drivers
We are so blessed to have some of our bus drivers spend time with our students during lunch giving High-Fives on Fridays! Students love seeing them in the cafeteria and providing positive interaction! We are thankful for our Mountain Ridge Community who shows up for our students!
Highlights from Unified Arts
We had a fantastic week in music as we continued building our rhythm skills through some fun Fall-themed activities!
🎵 Kindergarten learned to perform Ta and Rest beats with Six Music Pumpkins, using egg shakers to keep the beat and bring our music to life! We also reinforced our math skills as we took away one pumpkin in each round.
🍁 First Grade followed a Leaf Rhythm Path through their classrooms, marching to the steady beat and practicing how to move together with the music.
🎃 Second Grade got moving with our Pumpkin Patch Relay! Teams raced to their pumpkin patches, picked a pumpkin rhythm card, and performed Ta, Ti-Ti, and Rest rhythms using body percussion. It was a fun way to practice rhythm recognition, teamwork, and musical performance!
We are learning SO many new things in music, and I couldn’t be prouder of our students! Not only are our musical skills growing, but our behavior has been award-winning! 🌟 Keep up the amazing work, little music makers! 🎶
Music Movement with First Grade
Bringing Music to life in Kindergarten
When homerooms earn their goal for positive behavior stars with Mrs. Hess in Music class, they get to spin the reward wheel! This week one class landed on Music Teacher Makeover!
Officer Harvey & Moose
Students absolutely love seeing Officer Harvey and Moose each day at MRP! Whether they are patrolling our hallways, cafeteria, campus perimeter, or keeping a watchful eye as students move between buildings, their presence brings both safety and smiles to our school community. We are incredibly fortunate and grateful to have Officer Harvey and Moose as such an important part of our MRP Family. Their dedication, care, and commitment to our students make a difference every single day.
PTO Connection
We hope you can join us for our Mountain Ridge Community Day on Oct. 24th!
We are holding a candy collection competition between all grade levels though October 23. Keep sending those bags of candy to prepare for our campus event! The grade level candy 'Monster' has started to 'eat' the bags in each hallway. The students are excited to see candy bags placed in their grade level monster and can't wait to hear how much their grade has collected so far.
Emergency Cards
All students need a completed online emergency card every year. Thanks to everyone who has already submitted one! We're still missing several. If you haven't filled one out for your child(ren), do it today!
Absences
If your child misses school, please send a note within 48 hours so it can be coded correctly!
