Tiger News from Principal Stilwell
Information and communication for Garfield Families
Dear Garfield Families,
As we finish up our i‑Ready diagnostics, I am excited to share that students across grade levels showed tremendous growth in both reading and math. This reflects the hard work of our students and staff and the strong learning happening every day at Garfield.
WIDA testing is now underway for eligible students, and mid‑winter break is coming up soon—an important time for everyone to rest and recharge as we head into the final stretch of the school year.
A reminder that Tuesday, February 10, is the final day to turn in your ballots. If you have not already done so, please be sure to submit them at a designated drop box.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions or need additional information. Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping make Garfield such a special place.
Warmly,
Kathy Stilwell

BALLOTS DUE FEBRUARY 10
School Construction Bond and Education Levy:
- Proposition 1, the School Construction Bond, would fund a new elementary school and add permanent classrooms at existing schools, helping reduce the reliance on portable classrooms. The proposal also includes rebuilding Lowell Elementary, improving learning spaces at Cascade and Everett High schools, and updating roofs, heating and cooling systems, playgrounds, and safety features for schools throughout the district.
- Proposition 2, the Education Levy, is a renewal measure. It is not a new tax. The levy continues funding for staffing, academic programs, student services, and day-to-day school operations that are not fully covered by the state.
Ballots are due February 10.
