Wiggin Street Parent Update
May 4, 2026
Better Together
Dear Wiggin Street Families,
This week, we proudly celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, a special time to recognize the incredible dedication, compassion, and hard work of our teachers. Each day, they go above and beyond to support, inspire, and care for our students, helping them grow both academically and personally. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom, shaping confident learners and kind individuals. I encourage you to join me in showing appreciation—whether through a kind note, a message, or simply taking a moment to say thank you. We are truly fortunate to have such an outstanding team of educators at Wiggin Street Elementary.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our PTO, Friends of Wiggin Street, for organizing such a thoughtful and well-planned week of celebration for our teachers. Teacher Appreciation Week, celebrated nationwide each May, is a meaningful opportunity to recognize the dedication and impact of educators , and your efforts have truly made this week special. From the daily treats and surprises to the coordinated schedule of events, your generosity and attention to detail have not gone unnoticed. We are equally grateful to all of our families for their donations and support in making this week possible. Your partnership helps create a positive and appreciative school community, and our staff feels genuinely valued because of you.
Warm Regards,
Christy Grandstaff
Principal, Wiggin Street Elementary

The Team Tressel Fitness Challenge is now available for the summer! This is a simple, fun way for families to stay active, build healthy habits, and spend meaningful time together during the summer break. Families can participate on their own schedule while working toward shared goals and by the end of the summer even win a medal! The challenge can be downloaded below.
Safety Town Visits Wiggin Street!
Sgt. Myrda and Mr. Brock Evans taught students the rules of the road with Safety Town this week. Students learned to ride on the right side of the road, stop at stop signs, and how to use hand signals. It was quite a setup even with a dog fountain!
Dr. Bazzoli visits 3rd Grade
We always appreciate Dr. Bazzoli visiting our students at Wiggin Street and teaching them about their health.
The Chicks Hatched!
It was an exciting Friday morning when students arrived to Mrs. Sanders' classroom to find their chicks had hatched overnight. Many classes enjoyed stopping by to take a peek!
5th Grade Ryan's Case for Smiles
Thank you to Terri Lewis and her many volunteers for providing our students with the opportunity to learn how to sew pillowcases that will be donated to Nationwide Children's Hospital. This meaningful project not only taught valuable skills but also allowed our students to give back in a thoughtful and compassionate way.

Tea Party with Mrs. Peugh!
Mrs. Peugh had a tea party based on the story of Alice in Wonderland with Mrs. Clippinger's class. The students decorated glass plates as a keepsake.
