2026-2027 Program of Studies COMING SOON

The 2026-2027 Program of Studies (POS) will be published on the SVHS website soon. A POS is a document that contains the official listing of approved high school courses of study for students. Courses are organized by academic departments or programs. Included are course descriptions, credits, prerequisites, and other information related to approved courses. The POS also includes system and state information regarding graduation requirements, counseling procedures, grading, college and career planning, and optional programs.

Scheduling Steps after the POS:

  • Teachers enter course recommendations for students.
  • Counselors & Administration provide grade level presentations to students.
  • Counselors & Administration run a "Scheduling Informational Session" for parents in the evening.
  • Online course selection/registration opens for students.
  • Counselors and Administration will meet with students to assist them in the course selection/registration process.
  • Course selection verification sheets are provided to students and Counselors.
  • Administration will design and develop the 2026-2027 Master Schedule.

Upcoming Counseling Groups for Students

Next semester, our High School Counseling Department will be offering several small-group counseling opportunities for students. These groups provide a safe, supportive space for students to learn new skills, connect with peers, and receive guidance in areas that many teens find challenging. Participation is voluntary, and groups will meet once a week during the school day.

Our upcoming counseling groups include:

  • DBT Skills Group - Students will learn practical tools from Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help them manage emotions, stay calm under stress, improve relationships, and make positive decisions.
  • Social Skills Group - This group helps students strengthen communication skills, build healthy friendships, feel more confident in social situations, and practice teamwork and problem-solving.
  • Grief & Loss Group - Designed for students who have experienced the loss of a loved one or a major life change, this group provides a compassionate space to explore emotions, share experiences, and learn healthy coping strategies.
  • Anger Management Group - Students will learn how to recognize anger triggers, express feelings in healthier ways, use calming strategies, and reduce conflict at school and at home.
  • Stress & Anxiety Group - This group teaches students how to manage daily stress, challenge unhelpful thoughts, practice relaxation techniques, and build resilience.

If you feel your child may benefit from participating in one of these groups, please reach out to Ms. Angela Rohrbaugh, High School Counselor, at angela.rohrbaugh@svpanthers.org or 610-838-7001 ext. 2715. We are here to support your student’s well-being and success.
