Week At A Glance

It is great to be back, and we survived the 1st week of school!

• Start time - School starts at 8:00 a.m. For safety reasons, students should not be dropped off earlier than 7:30 a.m. We have no supervision before 7:30 a.m.

• Dismissal - School is dismissed at 3:00 p.m. We encourage you to be early if you plan on parking and waiting for your child outside of school. The pick-up line can be long, but Mr. Kavanaugh works quickly to get everyone on their way home. As a reminder, students are not allowed to stay after school unless they are under the supervision of a school employee or a coach.

• Attendance - Remember to call the school when your student will be absent. If the absence is due to a medical appointment, please provide a school excuse upon their return. An absence of 3 or more days requires a note from the doctor to return to school.

• Harmony - Please log in to your Harmony account and update any demographic information that needs to be changed. We appreciate your efforts to keep us updated with correct contact information. Online registration forms should also be completed and signed off.

• Textbook Rental Payments - Payments can be made by credit card through your Harmony account. You may also pay by cash or check, made payable to North Posey Junior High School, and send payment to Mrs. Wassmer in the office.

• Water bottles -Students are allowed to have water bottles at school. Filling stations are located a few places in our building.

• Calendar - Please view our website for school events.

• Social Media - Please find and "like" our face book page, North Posey Junior High School. We routinely post the great things happening at our school!

Unfortunately, our student handbooks are on a delayed delivery. We hope to receive them within a couple of weeks. We will distribute them as soon as they are delivered.

We are excited to introduce, Mr. Jeff Duvall as 8th grade Math Teacher.

"I'm excited to be starting my 27th year of teaching this year. I graduated from USI (94) with a degree in elementary education with a math endorsement. I have previously taught at South Vermillion Middle School, South Putnam Middle School, and Cedar Hall. Throughout my years teaching I have been involved with many extracurriculars including coaching football, basketball, and baseball as well as coaching the math academic team. My wife, Amy, and I met at USI. We have been married for 27 years, and we have three children: Maddie (21), Will (20), and Marley (14). Amy and I are both educators, so you will often find us at school events and ballgames. North Posey has an excellent reputation for strong community involvement and family values, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to become a part of the Viking family".
