Looking for an opportunity to challenge yourself, stand out academically, and get a head start on post-secondary success? Grade 9 students and families are invited to explore Bev Facey’s highly successful Advanced Placement (AP) Program at our upcoming Information Night.

With over 150 students currently enrolled, Bev Facey’s AP program is a vibrant and supportive learning community for motivated students who want to push their thinking, deepen their learning, and explore university-level coursework while still in high school. Join us to hear real student experiences, learn about the benefits of AP, and discover how this program can open doors to future opportunities.

Our AP Coordinator and school administration will be on hand to answer questions and help you determine if AP is the right fit for your learner.

Parents/guardians and Grade 9 students are warmly encouraged to attend.

We look forward to welcoming you and showcasing the exciting possibilities of Advanced Placement at Bev Facey!

Inclement Weather Inclement Weather

With the winter season almost here, the school has a few reminders for families:

· Ensure students have clothing appropriate for expected weather conditions.

· If weather conditions are bad enough to impact student transportation, Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) advises families directly, and posts updates on social media and eips.ca. · Decisions regarding bus cancellations are guided by an EIPS administrative procedure that states, “school bus service may be suspended…when there is a forecast or current temperature of -40 C, including wind chill factor, in one or more regions.” Other reasons for suspending or delaying school bus services include adverse weather and poor road conditions.

· When school bus services are suspended, schools remain open to students.

For more information, contact EIPS Student Transportation at 780-417-8151.

Contact Information Contact Information

Has your contact information recently changed? Have you recently moved or has your contact information changed since the start of the year?

Lakeland Ridge encourages families to review the information the Division has on file to ensure it’s up to date. Using the Student Information Update available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, families can review the current information on file for each student—including addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, parent and guardian information, emergency contacts, medical details and other related information—and submit any updates needed.

Reviewing and updating the form ensures the school and Division have the most up-to-date information regarding your child. Updates completed by December 10 are especially helpful as the Division prepares for 2026-27 registration processes beginning in the new year.

NOTE: Only submit updates for the changes that have already taken place. If you’re moving later this school year, you’ll submit the necessary updates to your information through the Student Information Update after you’ve moved.

If you have questions about the form or any trouble with your Parent Portal account, contact the school office at 780-416-9018.

Parking Lot Pick Up and Drop Off Parking Lot Pick Up and Drop Off

Safety Concern - Parents, please read!

When dropping off and picking up students, please ensure you are not parking in bus zones, staff parking spaces, or entering the staff parking lot at any time, even for a quick stop. We have noticed an increase in vehicles lining up and blocking staff parking stalls for end of day pick up. This makes it difficult for staff to leave the school because their stalls are either blocked or they are concerned about backing out and hitting someone. Staff parking spaces have all been allocated for the staff from Lakeland Ridge, Holy Spirit and EIPS Supports for Students. All staff parking spots are in use, however, you may see some open spots because staff from all 3 organizations arrive and depart at various times of the day. Please do not park in an empty staff parking space or enter the staff parking lot. The map below outlines where you are permitted to pull in to pick up and drop off your children. (Turquoise area ONLY.) Whenever in doubt, STAY TO THE RIGHT!
