PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
On the first Friday of every quarter, we take some time out to celebrate the students’ accomplishments during the previous quarter. We recognize students in the areas of academics, athletics, and our C.O.R.E. Values (Community, Own It, Resiliency, Engagement). This has been a regular occurrence here for the last several years but every time these assemblies take place, I am reminded of how incredible this student community is. The assemblies get loud and raucous, and a little exhausting for this old lady, but I am so proud of the culture at Falcon Creek and how the students show up for each other! The kids are consistently supportive of their peers, cheering them on in the assembly games, congratulating them on winning awards, and genuinely celebrating each others’ accomplishments. That culture didn’t just happen by accident, the foundation is your amazing kids! Thank you! And, congratulations to all the students acknowledged for Quarter 1 success.
Let’s continue to build on our great start to the school year!
Take Care,
Lara Kibbee
Principal

STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Meet Ms. Avis. Devlin
By Eliana Rotenbakh and Sophie Mekrusheva
Ms. Devlin is a science teacher who inspires her students to learn about scientific research. She went to Grand Canyon University and has an Education Administration degree. Mrs. Devlin’s hobbies outside of school include hanging out with her dogs and her family.
According to Ms. Devlin, her stepdad, Donald Francis Scherer, is her hero. He married her mom and had four crazy kids including her and did an awesome job raising and loving them. Ms. Devlin would love it if students showed more kindness and acceptance towards each other. Falcon Creek kids are very kind and accepting, but she thinks we can all do better. When every kid here at Falcon feels like they belong, then she will feel close to that goal. To Ms. Devlin, Community is the foundation of our CORE values. When we care for one another, support each other, and work together, the three other values -Own It, Resiliency, and Engagement-naturally follow. A strong community helps each of us grow while encouraging those around us to become their best.
