Link Transit Helps Celebrate Mr. Carlson's Retirement
WHS photography teacher Reed Carlson has ridden the Link Transit bus to WHS for years. So naturally, his retirement send-off happened on one. City Council member and Link Transit driver Jose Cuevas drove a decorated bus in Reed's honor on his last day — complete with treats, Confluence Health employees, and a commemorative Link Bus to take home.
Congratulations to Mr. Carlson and the rest of our WHS staff retiring this year. Your impact will be felt for years to come, and you'll be missed!
Medical Assistant Students Graduate With Career Ready Certifications
Wenatchee High School CTE students in the Allied Health program recently completed their certification exams, and for the first time, six students graduated as certified phlebotomists and Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs).
These students have just completed WHS’ Medical Assistant (MA) courses, a two-year program taught by industry professionals that lets students experience what a career in healthcare really looks like. In order to become certified and complete the course, each MA student completed a 160 hour practicum with clinics across the Wenatchee valley, with some receiving job offers after graduation.
🏆 Wenatchee Athletics
Honoring Our Retiring Coaches
This spring, Wenatchee Athletics is saying goodbye to two coaches who have helped create a strong foundation for their respective sports and shaped them into what they are today. We’d like to recognize Kevin Reister and Bob Bullis for their many years of dedication and service to Wenatchee’s student athletes.
Kevin Reister - Unified Soccer & Unified Basketball
Coach Reister has been a soccer coach for Wenatchee schools since 1998, coaching middle and high school teams until 2017, when he was asked to build and coach a unified soccer team with Wenatchee Athletics. His passion and heart for unified athletics was so apparent that the following year, he was asked to coach the unified basketball team as well.
As the coach of unified soccer and basketball, Coach Reister has invested substantial time and resources to help his students reach their fullest potential. Kevin retires as more than a coach, but also a mentor, community leader, and someone who cares deeply about the ways athletics can impact students and their families.
Bob Bullis - Track & Field
Bob has been a cornerstone of Wenatchee Athletics throughout his career. Over the years he has inspired an entire generation of runners, mentored the coaches who follow in his footsteps, and shaped Wenatchee Track & Field into what it in today.
Bob's impact on Wenatchee Athletics will be felt for many years to come. Thank you for your many years of service to Wenatchee's athletes!
That's a wrap on spring sports!
Thanks to the students, staff, and their families who made it an amazing season!
