Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience

MWEE's forTeachers of ScienceMeaningful Watershed Educational Experience

What is a MWEE?

Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs) are learner-centered experiences that focus on investigations into local environmental issues that lead to informed action and civic engagement. It is an educational approach that is being implemented across the Chesapeake Bay watershed—and beyond. Teachers will learn how to conduct testing of local water and be able to investigate any issues that may be found. They will also learn how to create this type of learning experience with their students.

As part of the new PA Standards for Science, topics on Environmental Literacy and Sustainability are included. Join us in this interesting and engaging project to learn how to create student-centered activities for your classrooms.

This 3 part program involves:

1. Take the free 10 - hour MWEE 101 course online during May 15 - June 17, 2024.
