Dear UES Families,

As we welcome November, we are reminded of the importance of gratitude—not just as something we feel, but as something we put into action. This month, our Character Strong theme is gratitude, and it is the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect, and recognize the many people who make Moorestown Upper Elementary School such a special place.

At UES, we are fortunate to be part of a community that cares deeply about its children, values education, and works together to create meaningful opportunities for students to learn, grow, and succeed. There is so much to be grateful for, and I would like to take a moment to recognize just a few of the people who make a difference every day.

  • Our students: You are the heart of UES! Your curiosity, creativity, kindness, humor, and willingness to learn make our school a wonderful place to be. We are grateful for the energy and enthusiasm you bring to our classrooms and for the many ways you make our school community stronger.

  • Our educators and staff: Thank you for the care, dedication, and countless ways you support our students each day. From our classrooms and hallways to our offices, cafeteria, and beyond, every member of our team plays an important role in helping UES thrive. Your work matters, and we are grateful for all that you do.

  • Our families: Thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and continued support of our school. Whether you volunteer your time, attend school events, support our students at home, or lend a hand when opportunities arise, your involvement makes a difference. A special thank-you for your support of our Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser! Together, we raised $1,397 to support our UES School Store. These funds will help create meaningful opportunities for students to practice real-world skills while building responsibility, independence, and school pride.

  • Our Home & School Association: Thank you for the time, energy, and care you invest in making UES an even better place for our students and families. Your partnership and generosity help bring opportunities and experiences to our school that enrich the UES experience for everyone.

  • Our Moorestown community: Thank you for your continued commitment to our children and to the importance of education. A strong school community is built through the collective efforts of many people who believe in the potential of our students and want to see them succeed.

  • Our district leadership and Board of Education: Thank you for your continued work on behalf of our students, staff, and schools. The time and thought dedicated to supporting educational opportunities, planning for the future, and advancing our district's goals are important parts of the work we share in serving our students.

As we move through November, I encourage our students and families to join us in putting gratitude into action. A simple thank-you, a helping hand, a thoughtful note, or taking a moment to recognize someone's efforts can make a meaningful difference. Gratitude does not have to be grand to be powerful; often, it is the small, everyday gestures that remind people they are valued and appreciated.

Thank you for being part of the UES community and for all the ways you help make our school a place where students can learn, grow, and thrive. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this community and proud of what we continue to build together.

Wishing all of our UES families a wonderful November filled with opportunities to recognize the good around us and to put gratitude into action!

Warmly,

Dr. Lindsay Yarnold-Jablonski and the UES Leadership Team

Late Bus Messaging and Updates

Occasionally, unforeseen circumstances may delay an afternoon bus. Our Transportation Department will do its best to notify families as early as possible when a delay occurs.

If students are still at UES waiting for a bus at 3:15 p.m., we will send an update to the affected families. We will send a second message when their bus leaves UES. Students will remain supervised while they wait.
