🚨 Bus 160: This has not changed...
Dear Families,
We are currently experiencing a driver shortage for Bus 160 without a consistent substitute available. To ensure our students continue to have transportation, several of our teachers, instructional assistants, and custodians who hold CDLs have generously volunteered to drive this route before and after their regular workdays.
Because driver schedules will vary, please expect that Bus 160 may run up to 15 minutes earlier or later than usual, depending on daily conditions and student ridership.
Our staff is working hard to keep everything running smoothly on top of their full-time responsibilities. We truly appreciate your understanding, patience, and kindness during this time.

🏅News from our Athletic Boosters
The Boosters would like to thank everyone for their support of the EWMS Athletics. We have had an amazing first season of sports so far. Anything from concessions to special events we host to monetary donations it all helps. We were able to purchase 4 new girls basketballs, 4 new boys basketballs, 4 track hurdles, 4 headgear for wrestling, 1 dozen baseballs, 1 dozen softballs, 4 soccer balls, pitchers net and a drag for the softball and baseball field and now 3 uniforms for our Basketball Cheerleaders. Without the support from the East Wilkes family none of this would have been possible. Please come out and help us make the winter sports as successful.
Fall Sports pictures
Fall Sports pictures will be Monday after school. This will be for the volleyball, soccer and golf teams. Please bring your uniforms. Order forms will be available that day. All orders will be placed online so you do not need money. The golf team will have their pictures made at the school. Volleyball practice will follow immediately after pictures.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: October 22nd
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are excited to announce that our upcoming parent-teacher conferences are just around the corner! These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for you to meet with your child's teachers, discuss their progress, and collaborate on ways to support their academic and personal growth.
Parent-teacher conferences will be held on October 22nd. We encourage all parents and guardians to take advantage of this important opportunity to engage with our teachers and be actively involved in your child's education.
We cannot overstate the importance of your participation in these conferences. Research shows that students perform better in school when their parents are actively involved in their education. By attending these conferences, you demonstrate to your child that you value their education and are committed to helping them succeed.
During the conferences, our teachers will provide valuable insights into your child's academic performance, strengths, areas for improvement, and strategies for continued growth. This direct communication between home and school is essential for creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment for your child. We understand that your time is valuable, and we appreciate your commitment to your child's education. Together, we can work towards ensuring that every student reaches their full potential. We look forward to meeting with you during the parent-teacher conferences and working together to support your child's success. Please look for more information coming soon on how to sign up for a time.
Warm regards,
Danielle Dowell

🧦 Beta Club is hosting a Soctober Sock Drive
Beta Club will be hosting a "Socktober" sock drive throughout the month of October.
If students bring in socks, they need to place them in their house box in the front office. At the end of the drive, the house that has donated the most socks will earn 10 house points! Please encourage your students to participate!
Why Socks? Did you know that...
-Socks are the number one most requested item at homeless shelters.
-People without housing often walk long distances every day, which wears out fabric fast.
-Health and safety: Clean, dry socks protect feet from blisters, frostbite, fungal infections, and trench foot. Access to washing machines is rare, making fresh pairs vital.
-Despite high demand, people rarely donate new socks.
