⭐ PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE ⭐
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of another busy and successful term, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many wonderful experiences we’ve shared as a school community.
This term has been filled with opportunities for learning, growth and connection. Some of our highlights included:
· Our Refugee Assembly, which was both inspiring and thought-provoking.
· Goal College sessions, where students built their sporting skills and confidence.
· Education Week, where we celebrated each day with a special theme – from Motivational Monday to Fitness Friday.
· Book Week, featuring a scavenger hunt, book fair, “share a book with a friend” activities, Book-an-Adventure rotations and the ever-popular Book Character Parade.
· Stage 3 Camp, which created lasting memories for our senior students.
· A wonderful Father’s Day Stall and Breakfast, bringing families together.
· Our colourful and joy-filled Colour Run, which raised money for Stage 3 events and provided an extremely fun day for everyone.
· Our PBL Rewards Day, celebrating students who demonstrated excellent behaviour throughout the term.
These activities wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our amazing staff. Thank you to our teachers, SLSOs and office staff for the part each of you played in organising or participating in these events.
This term also brought moments of sadness and change. We said goodbye to Terry Herd, who is deeply missed by our school community. We will continue to keep her in our hearts and, at the end of the year, present a special award in her honour to recognise a student who shares her love of reading.
We also farewell Ms Mallia, who is leaving us this term. Thank you, Ms Mallia, for everything you have done for our school. We wish you the very best as you begin your next chapter.
Finally, a very special thank you to our incredible staff, students, and families for your ongoing support and enthusiasm. Together, you make our school a safe, respectful and thriving place to learn.
I wish you all a safe and restful holiday break and I look forward to welcoming everyone back next term, ready for more exciting learning adventures.
Warm regards,
Jodie Landon

🎤 Metropolitan South Gimbawali Dreams 2025 Concert 🎤
On Monday, 22nd September, our school choir had the exciting opportunity to perform in Our School Spectacular – Gimbawali Dreams: Festival of the Stars at the Sydney Opera House. It was an amazing day, with our students joining 1,500 others from across the state to showcase their talent on the big stage. Our choir demonstrated resilience, engagement and enthusiasm throughout the entire experience, making us very proud.
A big congratulations to our choir students for their wonderful efforts! It was truly a proud moment to celebrate the incredible talent within public education.

📣 Metropolitan South and Metropolitan South West Public Speaking Competition 📣
On Tuesday 23rd September, three students attended the Regional Final of the Metropolitan South and Metropolitan South West Public Speaking Competiton. Students presented their prepared speeches and also an impromptu speech that was prepared on the day. Ayah - Stage 1, Arda - Stage 2 and Houda - Stage 3 very confidently represented our school and presented their speeches with enthusiasm and passion. We are extremely proud of all their efforts. A special mention to Houda who was awarded the 'highly commended' award!

Science and 3D Creations
This term, 3/4 Olive have been exploring solid materials in Science and combining their learning with Mathematics by investigating 3D shapes. As part of their project, students designed their own pencil and pen holders, putting their creativity and problem-solving skills into practice. The highlight of the unit was seeing their designs come to life on the 3D printer, transforming ideas into amazing creations they can proudly use every day.

🪴 New Arrival Students 🪴
Our New Arrival students have been working hard to build their English vocabulary. Recently, they have been learning the names of common household items and matching them to the correct rooms in a house. Many students are now beginning to use these words in short sentences, which is a wonderful achievement and shows the great progress they are making in their learning.
🍎 Regents Park Preschool Visit 🍎
This week we continued with our Pre school Visits, building the partnerships between our school and community services. On Wednesday, teachers visited Kidz On Regent Long Day Care Centre where they worked with the children and their educators, read a story, participated in some movement activities and completed a drawing and cut and paste activity. We look forward to our next visit!

On Tuesday 17th September our school hosted an Open Day allowing families of Kindergarten children in 2026 a chance to visit and explore our school. Families were taken on a school tour, visited classrooms, had a opportunity for structured play and enjoyed a morning tea in the hall. Families also had an opportunity to ask any questions and seek further information regarding our school and enrolment. We look forward to our Open day in 2026!

Summer PSSA Basketball
Over the past term, our basketball teams have represented the school with pride and energy at the PSSA Gala Days. From the first game to the last, the improvement has been outstanding. Players really grew in confidence, showed huge gains in teamwork and turned that into some great wins on the court.
Even more impressive was the way students encouraged each other, showed sportsmanship and put their training into action. It’s been fantastic to see their skills and team spirit develop each week.
Congratulations to all our players—you should be proud of how much you’ve achieved this term!

🎨🌈 Fun Colour Run Update 🌈🎨
On Thursday, 18th September, our school came together for one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Colour Fun Run! It was an action-packed day filled with excitement, laughter, and plenty of colour. Students ran, walked, and danced their way around the course while being showered with vibrant powder, sprayed with water guns, and cheered on by their friends.
The Colour Fun Run is always a highlight of the school year and creates memories that our students will never forget. We are thrilled to share that, thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we raised $5,422 to go towards the Stage 3 End of Year Farewell.
We are so grateful for the support from families, staff, and students in making this day such a success. A friendly reminder that all prizes need to be ordered online by Friday, 17th October.

💙 Father’s Day Stall – Success 💙
This term, our students enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Father’s Day Stall and purchase something special to spoil their dads, grandfathers, and carers. The excitement and smiles made it a wonderful day for everyone involved! A huge thank you goes to our amazing parent group for helping to organise the stall and to all the parents who volunteered their time to make the day such a success. We also appreciate the support of Mrs Arevalo in ensuring the event ran smoothly. We look forward to our parent group meeting in Term 4 as we begin planning more exciting events for our school community.
