End of the Week Schedule
Congrats Leyden Leaders
Congrats to the East students who were selected to be part of the first ever Leyden Leaders Leadership Program for the 25-26 school year. These rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors attended their first "meeting" last week. The next step will be a two day training over the summer and then the students will be asked to demonstrate leadership skills during a variety of Leyden events. Watch out for more great things to come from this exceptional group of students.
Leyden Students Save Lives...Again!
A special thank you to Student Council and the Spring Blood Drive participants. East Leyden collected 26 units of blood from 29 registered donors (16 volunteered as first-time donors!)
The blood collected will directly benefit up to 78 patients in the Chicago region, including transplant recipients, critically ill infants, cancer patients, and many others who rely on blood transfusions for their recovery. The next Blood Drive will take place in December 2025.
National Technical Honor Society
Congratulations to the NTHS seniors! Your hard work, leadership, and dedication to excellence in your CTE career field have truly set you apart—best wishes for a bright future!
Amanda Carrera, Alexa Oppedisano, Aniela Rivera,
Emily Casarez, Emil Dogic,
Oliver Lichota, Stacey Hajdini, Viktoriia Kulinich
National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) is the honor society for Career & Technical Education (CTE). NTHS has been recognizing outstanding student achievement in CTE since 1984.
Keep Your Eye on The Eagle's Eye
The EII Journalism students have restored the school's online newspaper, called The Eagle's Eye! In addition to student-written pieces, this digital newspaper has the latest episodes of the morning announcements, as well as a flipbook of The Talon, the district's literary magazine.
Are there any stories YOU would like to see covered in The Eagle's Eye? If so, share your ideas with Mr. Victor Giordano (vgiordano@leyden212.org). The Eagle's Eye will continue next year so you may see your idea in an edition coming soon!
Last Chance to Give YOUR Opinion!
We need YOUR opinion. Please answer THESE QUESTIONS to tell Leyden which activities you want to see take place during the lunch periods. Mini-golf, basketball, dancing...the possibilities are endless!
One Final 100th Year Celebration!
