Muscle Shoals High School Band

I’m so appreciative of the hard work of all our band boosters and students for planning and executing such a successful event Saturday. The Muscle Shoals High School Band Program continues to set itself apart with professionalism, high standards, and hospitality! It would be impossible to thank everyone individually, but if you played any role, large or small, in TVI this year, we couldn’t have done it without you. And, we need you again next year :)

Chair tests are right around the corner. Audition materials have been available in the band office for a while now, so stop by to begin preparing!

Monday, October 20th: 4th Block Rehearsal

Tuesday, October 21st: 4th Block Rehearsal, 5:15-8:15 Stadium Rehearsal

Wednesday, October 22nd: 4th Block Rehearsal

Thursday, October 23rd: 4th Block, Afterschool 3:30-4:30

Friday, October 24th: 4th Block Rehearsal, Away Game @ Hartselle (schedule below), Don't leave campus after school.

Saturday, October 25th: Alabama Marching Championships @ Spain Park (schedule below)

Every family is responsible for volunteering 3 times in the year, with at least one being in the concession stand. We need to get our concessions spots filled. No experience needed to sling some nachos. WE NEED YOU. Click the buttons below to sign up and view relevant details.

6:15 - Arrive at Hartselle High School/Unload

7:00 - Game starts

~8:15 - Halftime Performance

~9:45 -0 Game Ends/Load

11:30 - Arrive/Clean (don't unload)

*Get some rest and hydrate before Championships!!

1:00 - Band Room Opens/Show Fold Tarps/Make sure you have all parts of your uniform

2:00 - Load Buses/Depart

4:30 - Arrive/Unload/Eat Concessions

6:20 - Dress/Use the Restroom/Lock-in

6:55 - Warm-Up (B)

7:40 - Travel to Gate

7:55 - Perform (We are the last group of the night)

8:20 - UAB Exhibition - Awards to Follow

9:30 - Load

10:00 - Depart for MSHS

12:15AM - Arrive/Unload

Band Fees are PAST DUE (auxiliaries have a payment plan schedule)! If you need longer, please let me know. It is important that we get these fees in at the beginning of the school year, as we are already paying our drill writers, music arrangers, designers, band shoes, etc.

Marching Band Fees: $375
Concert Band Fees: $175 (second semester-due in January)

Band Shoes: $60

School-Owned Instrument Rental Fee: $50

*Auxiliary fees differ from person-to-person depending on apparel items ordered.

Our bookkeeping software is CutTime. You will receive a message on the 1st of every month with your account balance. NO PAYMENTS CAN BE MADE ON CUTTIME. All payments must be made on MySchoolBucks (links below).

Band Fees will not show up in your MySchoolBucks, like the rest of your school fees. The only place you can view your balance is on CutTime. If another parent needs to be added to a student's CutTime account please let me know.

I can't stress how important it is that we go ahead and get our fees in. We do not get any financial assistance and our budget is based around our fees and fundraisers only. Please help us by getting your fees paid as soon as possible.

Joining the MSHS Band on the Band App is the best way to communicate and get info about everything happening in the MSHS Band. All students are required to be a member of the band app. Additionally, please turn on the notifications for the Band App. Click the green band logo to join!

If any rehearsal will be missed during the school year, including during the school day. You should always fill out the absence form. Click the icon to complete an absence form.

The Muscle Shoals Band lives by the phrase, "If you're on time, you're late. If you're early, you're on time." Because the nature of what we do involves moving locations and getting equipment ready, it is necessary for all students to arrive or be dropped by no later than 10-15 minutes before rehearsal is set to begin. That means if rehearsal begins at 5, students will have to go to the band room, get out their instruments, dot books, music, music stands, etc. and move to wherever we are rehearsing before we begin. If they arrive at 4:58, they will not be prepared to begin on time. Parents, please keep this in mind when thinking about drop off times.

Once school begins, we will rehearse the following times during the week.

Every day 4th Block (1:35-3:15)

Tuesday Evenings 5:30-8

Wednesdays Afterschool (auxiliary sectionals) 3:30-4:30
