Kewaskum Elementary School Vision and Mission Statement
The vision of Kewaskum Elementary School is to guide our students to be respectful, hopeful, compassionate, and responsible individuals who recognize and take ownership in their educational journey.
The mission of Kewaskum Elementary School is to develop the whole child by providing an engaging and nurturing environment through high-quality teaching and learning.
KES Vision of a Learner
At Kewaskum Elementary, we believe every child can grow into a confident, caring, and capable learner. Our Vision of a Learner outlines the important skills and habits that help students succeed in school and in life.
This vision grows with your child from 4K through 5th grade, focusing on eight key areas:
✅ Community Contributors – caring, respectful, and responsible members of their community.
✅ Effective Communicators – share ideas clearly and listen to others.
✅ Creative Problem Solvers – think critically and find solutions.
✅ Resilient Learners – persevere, try new things, and learn from mistakes.
✅ Digital Citizens – use technology responsibly.
✅ Healthy Individuals – practice self-care, good habits, and balance.
✅ Responsible Collaborators – work well with peers and adults.
✅ Future Focused – set goals and dream big.
Question for the Monthly Focus
December – Effective Communicators
Students share ideas clearly and listen respectfully.
Ask your child: “What’s something interesting you told a friend or teacher today?”

*If items are brought in before Winter Fest, please just give to Mrs. Steinert
*Families can swap items, simply donate or grab what they need

The Temperatures have Dropped
As temperatures drop, please remember to send your child to school with appropriate cold weather clothing each day, including a winter coat, hat, gloves or mittens, boots, and snowpants when needed. Students will continue to go outside for recess as long as it is safe to do so, and proper clothing helps keep everyone warm, safe, and comfortable.
If you need assistance providing these items for your child, please contact the school office and we will be happy to help. Thank you for your support in keeping our students ready for outdoor play!
12 Days of Festiveness
Students are welcome to join KES staff in 12 Days of Festiveness. Please see the calendar for specific dress up days in the month of December.

Each month, every classroom teacher selects one student to nominate for Student of the Month. These students are chosen based on consistent good behavior, strong effort in the classroom, being a positive role model for others, and going above and beyond KES behavior standards. We are proud to recognize students who demonstrate kindness, responsibility, and perseverance each day.
