Fall Parties
Our fall parties at RR will take place on Friday, October 30th (our EC classroom will communicate with their families). Your student's classroom teacher will communicate the exact times/activities with you.
A few reminders about costumes:
Students cannot wear their costumes all day
Costumes that include extreme blood/gore are not allowed
Weapons for costumes are not allowed
Students should be able to get into and out of their independently. Our staff do not have the capacity/time to dress over 20 kids in each class :)
Thank you for your support!
4th Grade Recorders!
Dear 4th Grade Families,
During the school year all 4th graders will be learning to play recorder in General Music Class. Students will use Yamaha soprano 3-piece recorders. (We use the same brand so students within the same classes are in tune with each other.) All of the recorders will be ivory.
The recorders cost $6.00 each. The school will order recorders for all Reagan 4th graders, and the charge will be added to your student’s account. However, if your family already has a Yamaha soprano 3-piece recorder (perhaps from an older sibling), your child may use it for class. If you already have a recorder, please let Mrs. Schilling know by emailing Christina.Schilling@nbexcellence.org by Monday, Oct. 26th, and the charge will not be placed on your student’s account.
When students bring recorders home to complete assignments, they should bring them back to school according to this schedule: Slavik and Mau - bring recorders back on Mondays, Eichstaedt and Powers - bring them back on Tuesdays.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Schilling
RR Music
Once again, in honor of our Veterans and Troops currently serving, and in conjunction with our Reagan Gives Back, we will have activities that we do as a building to honor Veterans Day.
1. Honor Flight Fundraiser: The cost to send one Veteran on an Honor Flight is more than $600. Students should return the slip of paper with their donation and give it to their teacher. Make checks payable to: Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. Attached below is the referenced form. Donation collection will end on Friday, November 13th.
2. Honor Wall: Students can bring photos of Veterans they would like to honor, along with the form they fill out to go with their photo. Please paperclip the form to the photo(s) and return it to your classroom teacher. Please send copies of your photos, not originals, as photos may not be returned. This form is on the same page as the donation form attached below.
3. Write letters to a Veteran: Students can write letters to a Veteran who will be attending an Honor Flight for the "Mail Call" on their return flight.
4. Veterans Day: Wednesday, November 11th will be Patriotic/Red, White, and Blue Day. Each student will receive a flag and place it outside in front of the school.
REPEAT FOR REAGAN {BUT STILL IMPORTANT!}
FAMILY TO PE week is November 16-20!
We invite you to sign up to attend PE class with your student(s) to either participate with them or just observe what PE class is like. Family members are welcome to attend 1 class with their child during their regularly scheduled PE class. If you have multiple children at Reagan, you may attend with each of them 1 time. We will be starting our Basketball unit so you can expect to learn and practice different basketball skills like dribbling, shooting, and passing that are differentiated for students of all learning levels.
If you are interested in attending, please click on the link below, find your child’s homeroom teacher and time of class, and sign up so we know how many to expect. You will be required to put your name, email address, and tell us your child’s first/last name. Keep in mind that this invitation is for PE only and if you want to observe other classes you need to set that up with those specific teachers. We also ask that you refrain from bringing other children with you at this time for learning and safety purposes.
Bring Your Family to PE Sign-Up!
On the day you attend PE, please arrive a few minutes early to check into the office (you will need a valid ID for the RAPTOR program if you have not had it scanned at the front office) and, if participating, come dressed for the fun learning activities we have planned. Please bring your camera or smartphone with you for a commemorative photo opportunity at the end of class.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing some of you in a couple weeks!
Thanks,
Katie Mulloy

Supporting Healthy Digital Citizenship Habits
As children age they tend to become more independent online—moving from simple learning apps to gaming platforms, video streaming, and early search engines. Common Sense Media offers practical tips to help establish healthy digital habits at home during these critical years: Set Clear Device Boundaries: Establish screen-free times and areas at home, especially during meals and before bedtime, to promote healthy sleep and focus. Co-Play and Explore Together: Engage with what your child is watching or playing—ask them about their favorite Roblox games or YouTube channels to keep communication open. Use Age-Appropriate Content Controls: Set parental controls and privacy settings on devices, YouTube Kids, and gaming platforms to filter out mature content and turn off open chat features. Focus on Quality Over Screen Time: Balance entertainment with educational apps, creative tools, and physical active play. For more detailed tips and app recommendations, check out Common Sense Media's Guide to Your 7-to-9-Year-Old's Digital World and Parents' Ultimate Guide to Your 5- to 7-Year-Old's Digital World
